I would not recommend staying at this poorly furnished hotel. It was dire!!!! If you manage to park in the car park you have to walk through the lower ground and you are greeted by a very dirty, drab unkempt area. The reception is clean and our room 301 had just been updated but this was poor. The shower was scalding hot and the toilet blocked. The staff were helpful and friendly. I can't comment on the breakfast as I didn't want to eat there as I felt I could not trust the hygiene standards.

I went to this hotel because my usual Llandudno B & B was full. First thoughts of the Hotel were good, the room was nice, the price was nice. It appeared the room had been recently refurbished, it was nice but a few things need to be added, there was an hair dryer in the bathroom but no mirror, there was no shelf in the shower so you put your shampoo and body wash on the floor. The breakfast was just ok, it was a buffet breakfast, help your self, not much choice though, no fried bread or hash browns or even black pudding, the tomatoes were nly luke warm.

just back from this hotel and really enjoyed my time there.breakfast is help yourself style and is very good.the evening meals were very good with a good choice.i had turkey and all the trimmings, fish and chips, beef salad and roast beef and Yorkshire pudding-all these meals were very nice and the portions are good.the staff here were very friendly, the lady in the bar was vey nice to chat to(hope you liked the irn bru!)the young guy who worked in the bar was also very friendly-(thanks for bringing up the 2 bottles of beer for me after closing the bar) the waitress in the restaurant very pleasant and polite too.all of the staff seemed to have a nice way about them-this includes the big guy on the reception too who always seemed to be smiling!
the hotel is clean and tidy and location is great-looking on to the sea-pier near and shops just round the corner.entertainment was on a couple of nights and the guy on the Tuesday was pretty good singing the kind of music I like.my stay here was great value-and I would like to say the crowd on our coach were great company the whole week.
thanks for everything and look forward to a return visit.

We (my wife and myself) spent an enjoyable weekend at this hotel July 2014, Our room was newly refurbished and comfortable, the beds were very sleep friendly, the restaurant was very chaotic at times and the food was very basic but eatable. Its not the greatest hotel by far, but work is in progress and I would like to see the hotel in a year from now,

We spent one night here and dont think we would like to spend another. The owners are trying hard to refurbish the hotel but its seems very hit and miss. Our room overlooking the promenade had been refurbished and on first appearance it looked ok.But then we saw the curtains were hanging off the rail and had paint on them so they mustnt have been taken down when the painting was done. The back of the bedroom door was covered in white smudged paint and although the bathroom looked very impressive at first sight a closer look and we could see the finishing off wasnt very well done. Also there was no mirror in the bathroom or a shaver point. There were no bedside tables so we had to put the two chairs that were with a table in the bay window next to the bed and no mattress protectors on the bed.Not good in our eyes.Just a bit more thought into everything and it could be so much better.Breakfast left a lot to be desired. The plates were just left on a table so were cold and the breakfast room was shabby. We realise it all takes time but wouldnt it be better to try and finish refurbishing one part of the hotel and using this for guests whilst the rest of the hotel is being done. This way they may not get as many negative reviews. The staff were pleasant and obliging .We hope that the Brig y Don can soon come up to scratch like the other hotels on the prom and wish them well but until then i guess you get what you pay for.

Arrived on Saturday 21st June 2014 lady on reception complained she shouldnt even be in work as it was her day off.
Room was rear facing overlooking the over crowded carpark there was a strong smell of egg shell paint as soon as we entered our room. Very poor deco, cheap tea & coffee kettle plug didnt reach the plug so had to put it on the floor to use it.
Shower inadequate it pointed toward the tiles, the handle on the shower door was missing so had to call for my partner to help me open it from the outside.
Worst nights sleep we have ever had !! The mattress was rock hard & the pillows were flat. We found several holes in the sheets. Attention to detail was none existant. There was a nice tv but we couldnt sit up in bed to watch it as the pillows werent big or wide enough to put behind us to stop the bar of the bed from digging in our heads.
We both got up on the sunday morning feeling nausious and headaches, not alchohol induced as we didnt drink the night before, we beleive it must have been the egg shell paint.
Breakfast was abismal to say the least, fresh orange juice was watered down, sausages looked well done on the outside but were well under cooked on the inside bacon was too hard to even bite into, no beans, bread was cheap & nasty & the toaster wasnt working properly as a result there was a queue for the toaster which eventually worked but it only toasted one side of the bread.Coffee was cheap tasting so we didnt drink it went to a coffee shop in the town later instead.
When we went to reception to check out there were no members of staff around and after waiting 10 minutes i went into the reception area myself & put the room key on a desk
Such a lovely location a crying shame they are letting the 'hotel' go to disrepair. Would advise very strongly to spend an extra £10 to £15 to stay in one of the other more attractive hotels on the sea front. The work that is being done on this 'hotel' should have been done during the winter months not during peak season !!

We stayed at Brig Y Don for just one night with our two grandsons. Both rooms were at the front of the property and had unobstructed views of the spectacular vista of Llandudno seafront. Our room110 was one of those that have recently been renovated and was extremely well finished with an excellent ensuite. The boys had room 310 which had not yet been renovated but was adequate for their needs. Some of the criticisms on this site have been very unfair a lot is being done to address some of the problems. I agree that some areas still need improvement but our main complaint would be the poor location of the bar - also it would be nice if someone could demolish the wall at the back entrance so that access to the car park would be improved. Finally we enjoyed a great break at an extremely reasonable price.

Room Tip: 110 is excellent
