“Well done Imperial most impressed”
Reviewed 30 April 2011

Stayed here for a weekend whilst my husband was working, having lived in llandudno until marrying and moving away - I was looking forward to coming back and seeing lovely llandudno again. I am probably super critical as my parents used to own a rival hotel in llandudno some years ago.

But, I was so impressed - my husband had phone earlier and upgraded us to a sew view room - you cant go to llandudno without seeing that magnificent view.

We arrived, with it all organised, lovely room, nice view - staff helpful, breakfast great, we ate out at our old haunts and had a wonderful weekend in sunny llandudno.

Thank you Imperial - well done - we would stay again and next rime bring the rest of the family.

Had a very relaxing couple of days. Great view from the rooms and all very comfortable. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant food and service is amazing and the staff will provide anything you ask for whether it is on the menu or not. They also provided a birthday cake which was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Best to park on the promenade.

Had a good time at this Hotel. One of our party of 5 was in a wheel chair and the hotel couldnt do enough for him-including the temporary building and fitting of as ramp so his wheel chair could get through a certain part of the hotel.

The hotel has a lovely position on the front but parking was a bit limited in the car park round the back. Had a bed and breakfast deal and the breakfasts were first class. Didnt sample Dinner, The bar prices werent cheap but suppose thats no different in any decent hotel

Rooms 301 and 505. Excellent rooms, recently decorated. We spent 2 nights at the hotel. First night we experienced the Evening Meal which comprised of Nouvelle Cuisine (as we expected - little substance but looks nice). 2 courses were included in the Sunday by the Sea tarriff. If you like quantity I'd go somewhere else to eat and the extras (a liqueur coffee was 7 quid) were expensive. Monday night we went to Romeo's Italian Restaurant in the town which was far more enjoyable and better value for money.
Staff were very helpful and courteous. Not sure why but both nights both rooms had to sleep with the windows wide open as the heat was overwhelming in both rooms which affected the quality of my sleep. Saying that, I'd gladly recommend this hotel to anyone and I've been many times since a work residential here in the early 90s. Love the pool and especially the jaccuzzi.

Room Tip: If you dont like Nouvelle Cuisine eat elsewhere.

Thank you for your review and even though you felt dining in Chantrey’s Restaurant fell short of your needs on quantity we appreciate your comments and are glad that you would still recommend the hotel. We haven’t had a complaint about quantities for our Evening Meals before but take on board your comment and will look into this further. We hope to welcome you back soon.

We stayed at this hotel on a spring offer to celebrate our birthdays. We asked for a balcony room and were delighted on check in to be allocated a sea view balcony room, with a wonderful view of the promenade and the pier.
There was plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel, which was covered by the hotels CCTV. The leisure area, pool, sauna and steam room was lovely. We had afternoon tea, breakfast and lunch in the terrace area. No complaints about the food or the service, and the outlook from this area is exceptional.
We really enjoyed our stay, and will return - thank you

We stay at this hotel once maybe once twice a year mainly for the vews from the terrace and the swimming pool. We do not rate the food at the imperial. Breakfast always seems portion controlled, very small portions. This visit breakfast did not serve real butter, ie lurpack etc but county life which has a taste of margarine. There were no individual jars of marmalade but a very runny homemade concoxtion which was uneatable. Dinner ( which we opted out of) is too fussy ,even the simplist meals had unneccessary ingrediants mixed in. Not everyone is a herb/garlic worshipper.Next visit we may well choose to stay at the St George.

Room Tip: look for the offers

We regret your disappointment from your last visit and would have preferred having the opportunity to address your points at the time of your visit rather than via this review. We have though taken on board some of your comments but feel it is only right that we take this chance to highlight that we never serve margarine only butter and it was unfortunate that our choice of butter was not to your liking. We are surprised that not having dined with us you feel our Menu is too fussy. Chantrey’s Restaurant is an award winning Restaurant for fine dining but as we use only local and seasonal produce, which has a long-established reputation for distinctiveness, quality and taste, we do not feel the need to overpower our dishes with herbs or garlic as our current menu testifies as there is only one dish - Free Range Breast of Free Range Chicken Stuffed with a Thyme and Garlic Mousse, served with Champ Mash, Roasted Salsify, Turnips and Carrots and a Sweet Shallot Jus – that contains garlic. We do though clearly state on our Menu that should you have any particular favourite dishes or special dietary requirements we will endeavour to arrange your meal accordingly and would have gladly done so had we have had this opportunity. We are naturally very disappointed to hear you might not return but would like the opportunity to welcome you back.
