We had a cottage on the Great Orme and literally had a short walk across to the Copper mines - an incredibly interesting place and the history is just staggering in terms of its importance, incredible to think this place of world importance may still remain hidden by a car-park if the survey had not shown up the tunnels! I would say its not for the claustrophobic or folks who may be a little large as some of the tunnels can be a little narrow but you really get a feel for what the People of the time (including little children) had to endure to mine the copper - a fantastic trip back through ancient history. The little gift shop sells a reasonably priced range of natural crystals and fossils and has a good second hand book shop. Would definitely recommend whilst you are on the Orme.
