Not recommended at all. £16 for a family and it lasts about 40 mins. Some informative stuff, but the kids were bored half way through.

The 4,000 year old Great Orme Copper Mine provides a good experience for the whole family. The mine produced 10 Million axe heads worth of copper in the Bronze Age, which makes it a significant historical location. The site is interesting for the whole family - my sons, my husband, and my stepdaughter all enjoyed walking in the miners tunnels and learning about the importance of copper in the Bronze Age. It takes about an hour to see the whole site. They have a reasonably good gift shop with a second hand book collection. And, they welcome dogs!

Well what can I say, waste of money, lying staff, very unhelpfull. On a wet day in September we decided to visit this "must see" attraction, on arrival the car park was empty (not a good sign) so with 3 fed up kids in the back of the car we asked how long the "self guided" tour took, approx 40 mins was the reply so we handed over the best part of 20 quid and 10 mins later we are out again! WHAT. when we questioned about the time it took us they said we must have walked fast, with a 5 year old!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID.

One of our group really wanted to visit this attraction and although the rest of us were ambivelent, it turned out to be the highlight of our day on the Orme. Don't let the goofy signage and short walk from the summit discourage you from going in. It is quite impressive once you begin your self-guided tour inside the mine. It is quite cool and cramped as you walk through and there are a few stairs and inclines and low ceilings but nothing any of us could not feel safe about doing. The 2nd-hand bookstore is worth a look as well.

The self guided walk through the old bronze mines gives you a good impression of the harsh working conditions people of that age had to endure. Narrow, wet and cold; it's not for the claustrophobic.

The information and the visitor centre, however, isn't much to brag about, as there are only a couple of short TV clips and a few lacklustre signs put up outside the mine, and the gift shop is the standard rock-and-mineral-selling affair you'll see around most museums of this kind.

It's also a bit pricey, but perhaps worth a quick stop if you're going up on the Great Orme tramway and have an extra hour to spend. It's only a few minutes from the midway tram stop. But make sure you get to experience the whole of Great Orme rather than just go to the mine.
