“Like a dream”

Staying at Bodysgallen Hall is a bit like being in a dream - as if you had been transported back into the good old days of elegance and style, something you may rarely experience nowadays. The service both in the hotel and the restaurant is excellent, always friendly and obliging but never obtrusive.
Being from Germany, we thoroughly enjoyed the historical atmosphere of the hall with all its cosy places; the beautiful gardens and the breathtaking countryside that surrounds them offer such a a haven of peace that you'd wish to stay for a longer period of time.
When we expressed our interest in the house and its history we were even shown up the old medieval watchtower from which there is a splendid view of both Snowdonia and the seaside. We were also given lots of information material about the hall and its history.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable, there was nothing we would have missed! Another memorable experience was our dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was superb and I guess we had one of the best tables available right in the oriel so that we could enjoy the gardens and the view of the mountains while being served a first-class dinner.
We also used the hotel spa, which is well kept and in a very good state. Unfortunately the steam bath was closed during our visit. However, we did enjoy the other facilities, and the staff there is indeed very friendly and helpful.
All in all, we can only say that we can't wait to come back!

We would like to thank the hotel for the wonderful experience we had today. The service was impeccable, the food delicious and the surroundings wonderful. It was a special occasion and can only say that the visit made our day (although the sun helped as well).

Thank you to everyone involved and we will certainly visit again and recommend it to others.

I've stayed at Bodysgallen on and off for over twenty years and found it to be on top form on my July visit. Stayed in a cottage (Bank Prospect) which was spacious and very comfortable with excellent beverage making facilities and a really good fridge, something of a rarity in many hotels. All aspects of the hotel were excellent. This is a wonderful old house immaculately kept with very fine gardens which reward exploration. The restaurant food was excellent at both dinner and breakfast with good friendly service. I have only two caveats. If staying in a spa cottage drive to the hall for dinner and park in the car park at the back of the hotel,it's a difficult walk for ladies in nice shoes. Secondly the traffic calmers on the long drive are appalling and not neccessary. Please Historic House Hotels get rid of them. Otherwise a fine hotel at the top of it's form.

We stayed here as the last leg of our Honeymoon. I can't express enough how serene, relaxing, and beautiful it was to be there! The staff was friendly and professional although we didn't receive a wake-up call like we had requested...honest mistake I'm thinking. Besides that, very helpful. Lot's of vegetation and gardens to freely roam along in. The flowers and herbs smelled so amazing.

We got married at Bodysgallen last summer on August 12th 2010 and spent three nights there. It's such a special place and we can't recommend it enough. Most of our friends and family stayed too in the cottages on the grounds. Everyone loved the individual and peaceful cottages. We stayed in the Lady Augusta suite and it had superb views over to Conwy. We also used the lovely spa and had a few treatments which were very relaxing.

Of course it does cost to stay here but it's worth every penny. The staff give a very personal service and are very helpful, professional and made our day completely smooth and stress free. The grounds are stunningly beautiful and lovingly maintained.

Our wedding breakfast was delicious and we also ate in the restaurant and bistro. The food is of a high quality as you would expect.

A big thank you to Bodysgallen for a relaxing and wonderful wedding and stay!

One of the things we like to do when out for the day is to call in at hotels in the areas we visit for a coffee, afternoon tea or a meal. We generally find the service to be better and the atmosphere to be more relaxed. Visits of this nature have helped us find hotels that we have then visited for overnight stays. Today we passed Bodysgallen on the way to visit Bodnant Gardens and decided to call in for a coffee and or / a snack or afternoon tea.
Although there literature says that non residents are welcome, visitors calling in, are obviously something this hotel is not used to and the welcome although pleasant certainly made us feel as though we were not exactly welcome. On asking if we could have a coffee, a manager had to be called for a decision and very graciously we were told that on this occasion an exception could be made and we could be served. We were about to sit down in the lounge, but were informed that we could take our coffee in the library or drawing room and were led to the library, a not very inspiring room where we sat facing the fireplace with a few flowers placed in the grate. Coffee was duly served, being a cafetiere for two, but at £8 for a cafetiere I would have expected a biscuit or something similar. We have no objection to paying a premium when visiting establishments such as this, but this is one hotel that as full of character as it may be we will not be visiting again. The information we obtained from reception on arrival now has pride of place in the bin.

This has to be one of the best places I've stayed and also one of the nicest locations. Ok - I like Wales a lot. Maybe I'm a little biased but this hotel and it's cottages are tremendous. The staff are excellent. The rooms are so clean and well appointed. They even put fresh ground coffee and caffitiere for you to use.

I stayed in one of the cottages - this is very close to the spa which is free to residents. The spa it's self - great place. Great gym, pool and sauna.

The hotel is in some lovely grounds complete with sheep and rabbits every where.

If you need to stay in Llandudno or around - you could do far far worse:)

Room Tip: Probably they are all great rooms.
