I took my parents for Sunday lunch for Mum's birthday and everything about the hall, the service and the food is just perfect. The staff are attentive, professional and yet not off putting or snooty. The food was fabulous - well cooked, plated beautifully, and great ingredients such as roasted salsify, local duck eggs..the setting is wonderful and it's an amazing place with interesting nooks and crannies to discover. Had coffee after lunch snuggled on sofas next to roaring fires. The gardens and landscape are tranquil and beautiful and if the weather's good are lovely to wander round. It is not inexpensive but it is not overpriced and given the quality of food, setting and service it is actually good value for money. Thoroughly recommend for a special occasion.

beautiful old building, rotten weather outside but cosy on the inside.am sure the gardens would have been lovelyin better weather. friendly waiter. had a lovely afternoon tea with the best lapsang souchong. only complaint is that there was no clotted cream with the scone although the menu stated there was. hope to return to try the restaurant or bistro soon.

How very fortunate we were to find the Bodysgallen Hall and Spa for our brief pre-Christmas trip to see family in Wales.

Owner Historic House Hotels, with their very appropriate logo in which a pineapple is prominent, has taken great steps to make an experience here so much more than just the chance to stay in a sympathetically updated 500-year-old structure. Upon our arrival, staff lived up to the message of the pineapple motif, and provided a warm and kindly welcome. Indeed, Mr. Johnson the GM was also on hand — and, significantly, evident throughout our visit — to ensure a thoroughly embracing start to our stay.

Under the ownership of HHH, and in the capable hands of Mr. Johnson, and through the caring nature of all the staff (up-front and behind the scenes), we were treated to the experience of a Grand Hotel from the past, where service, guest comfort, and pride in duty were the hallmarks of the operation, grounded in all the amenities, guest-centred conveniences, and technical supports (WiFi, electrical outlets) required by today’s travellers.

All our meals were excellent, and the service equally impressive in that understated way that comes from good training, fine instincts, and the ability of good staff to adapt both to the unique needs of customers. The Spa was an unexpected treat, the pool being the perfect length for laps.

After our dinners, we’d enjoy some lovely port, provided by Adrian who attended to the Bodysgallen’s pub. Like all the fine staff, he was engaging, yet unobtrusive, adding to the experience of this impressive hotel. As we enjoyed the various sitting rooms with crackling fires, and exploring the several floors with port in hand, we found ourselves grinning like fools that we had found such a gem.

Well done Historic House Hotels, Mr. Johnson, and all the staff at Bodysgallen Hall and Spa. As the time arrived for us to finish our final Prosecco, and take taxi to the train station for the trip back to London, we were very, very reluctant to leave. Our visit was just that remarkable. When we return to London, we’ll again make this very special trip to Wales, and stay longer in this exceptional hotel.

We are not Christmas people but we thought we would give Bodysgallen Hall a shot at trying to make Christmas this year as enjoyable as possible for two Non Christmas people, and they did!We made it into a weeks holiday and everything was as we expected.Three beautifully decorated Christmas trees,a sprinkling of holly and our own mini Christmas tree in our room was all that was needed to make Bodyagallen the perfect place to be..The house was warm and as comfortable as ever.We had horrendous gales during our festive stay ,but we were cocooned in our own little world ,and with views of snow covered mountains in the distance ,all was perfect .The food during our stay was as delicious as ever. The actual Christmas Day Lunch was traditional, just as it should have been.
With friendly staff at every turn,it was a Christmas that we thoroughly enjoyed ,and we have reserved for 2014!

My husband, two adult children and I spent the Christmas holiday at Bodysgallen Hall and felt as though we were house guests - not just hotel visitors. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful, the holiday receptions and meals were superb, the rooms were comfortable and well appointed and the grounds were exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to take long walks into the beautiful countryside right from the hotel. We do hope to return one day.

Room Tip: Views of Conwy Castle from the hotel are not to be missed!

This was our third New Year stay at Bodysgallen Hall and, as in previous stays, was most enjoyable. We stayed in a delightful cottage in the grounds with its own private garden and wonderful views. Afternoon tea in front of the log fire in the Hall was just perfect. No crusts on the sandwiches!.......and the eclairs topped with white chocolate were absolutely delicious. The Champagne reception and fireworks before dinner were very enjoyable and allowed guests to mingle and talk. Dinner was first class.....as I was unable to eat the dessert on the menu the kitchen substituted a really nice fruit plate. Nothing is too much trouble at Bodysgallen ......staff are efficient but friendly and my husband and I could not fault a thing. We will be returning! The Hall is run very well and is a credit to the management. First class hotel.

Room Tip: If you stay in the winter be prepared to face the elements if you stay in a cottage...umbrellas are...

Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th century parterre of box hedges filled with sweet-scented herbs, a rockery with a cascade, a walled rose garden, and several follies. Historic House Hotels Ltd bought and rescued the house from a dilapidated state in 1981 and restored the 17th century house and gardens. Each bedroom is individually decorated and furnished with antique furniture, paintings and prints, enjoying glorious views of Bodysgallen's parkland or gardens, with some rooms having further reaching views of Conwy Castle or the distant Mountains of Snowdonia.
