First hotel with Shearings & found it to be a little disapointing.I know it, s a Victorian hotel but i would have expected a shower in the bathroom (not just bath) & bed had sheet & blanket. Also it,s quite a walk into the town.
Entertainment other than bingo was short & not often.
Otherwise I found my stay to be O.K. Service & staff were very good.

Dear Peteradams9
I'm really sorry to read of your disapointment with your room we are currently changing all our beds to Duvets but with 100 rooms it does take a little time.
On the other hand I'm delighted you were happy with the service we provided.

Had a lovely week at the County. Nice room right next to the lift and when it was busy not too far to the fairly short set of stairs, Food was good and varied and the dining room staff worked sooooooo hard but still managed to stay cheerful. Pity that it was so far from the town but found the taxis were cheaper than the buses to get out and about. Gorgeous weather - thank you Mr Sun. Would go back again and would recommend.

Room Tip: The lift only holds 2 so if stairs are difficult choose a low floor.

We stayed in this Hotel last week end, travelling by train and I booked direct with the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a lovely position and was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. All the public rooms were smart and pleasantly furnished and decorated(I loved all the purple)
Our room was quite large and nicely furnished and the bathroom looked recently tiled and was very clean and had a good shower with ample hot water. Admittedly the TV was fairly old but we don't go on holiday to watch TV. We did not request a sea view but the two windows with different aspects looked out on the distant hills as well as roof tops and was pleasant, and we got the sun in the early evening.
The food was good with a varied choice and was served by efficient friendly waiters.
Just two negative comments:-one is about the lift which is for only two people so getting upstairs was a lengthy process.
There was only entertainment on on Friday and Saturday which we didn't find as good as some other Shearings hotels. Fortunately the weather was good and we went out walking for most of the evenings.
Overall a very good weekend.

Dear Sue24-8
I'm delighted to read how impressed you were with the County and what an enjoyable weekend you spent with us. We have recently scaled down our entertainment on Sunday evenings just for the summer months however we do put on music for dancing and organise a game of bingo which has proved very popular.

Have just returned from a weekend break at the County. We found all the staff very welcoming and helpful. The food was always very good with ample choice and our waitress gave us excellent service. The hotel is in a lovely position so we booked a sea view room which was small and basic but very clean. The only downside was the mattress in our room 230. This mattress had obviously seen better days as we could feel the springs coming through and we found we couldn't get a decent night's sleep. This spoilt an otherwise excellent stay. Please management replace this mattress at an early date. We know that the hotel isn't pricey and expect some of the facilities to be basic but we feel guests should at least be entitled to a decent bed.

My apologies for your lumpy mattress but please rest assured I will have a look at it and replace it if necessary. We do supply memory foam toppers on request for guests who prefer a softer bed. Many thanks for the wonderful comments you make especially about our staff.

Typical Shearings resort hotel situated on the promenade about a mile from the pier. Very nice friendly staff, good public rooms, substantial entertainment room. I paid extra for a sea view room which was clean enough but small with a 4 square metre en suite. I saw some of the entertainment, very good and appreciated by the mainly elderly audience. The food I would rate as only average. I have stayed in a lot of Shearings hotels that provided better fare. The evening meal time is only between 6.30 and 7.30. The waiters tend to rush around too much trying to serve everyone in this time slot. An extra 15 minutes even would help. All in all we enjoyed this midweek break. Llandudno is such a nice resort, with many places within easy reach.

Room Tip: Plenty of free parking in the streets adjacent to the hotel. Pay the extra for a sea view room.
