Will we ever recover. The Alvis CCC came back this year, thinking that nothing is ever as good the second time round. But we now have included Mark and has family into our "caravan family" and we took over the hotel for a brill weekend. The entertainment was equally as good as the previous year, even better if that is possible with Mark and his team doing what they do best, making you laugh, the best therapy ever. The food was good, the rooms were clean and the whole hotel presented well. We loved every minute of our two night break and can't wait to return. Most of us have still got hangovers and poor Mark really looked very ill this morning but well worth it. Until next time...........

I travelled to The Risboro on a National Holidays coach trip on the 26th November 2011 with two of my friends for a girlie weekend. We weren't sure what to expect but as it was such a bargain for the Turkey and Tinsel dinner, we decided to give it a whirl. There was an age gap of about 40 years between us and the rest of the people on the trip but that didn't make a difference, everyone we met at the hotel was lovely and we ended up dancing the night away with the other guests.

The hotel is quite traditional in its decor but was spotlessly clean and the rooms are being updated - we had one that had recently been refurbished and it was lovely. If you go expecting a traditional guest house you'll know what to expect, this isn't modern like the Holiday Inn or swanky like the Hilton, but for the price it's great. The room was en-suite with a good shower (which is always important for me). Towels and bed linen were good quality, too. Take your own shampoo and shower gel though, there's none in the rooms. They provide hairdryers too which came in handy with three of us to get ready.

The best thing about the hotel was the entertainment and the staff - all of them were super friendly and helpful and they went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The Portuguese chap from behind the bar (I forgot his name, sorry!) was even kind enough to give us a lift to the bars after the show had finished at the hotel!

In terms of entertainment, the singer on was great, as was Mark, the hotel owner. The drinks were extremely reasonably priced and the DJ played a fab mix of songs, everything from Elvis to Lady Gaga. The food at both dinner and breakfast was really good and the service was speedy and friendly. Two of our party are vegetarian and this wasn't a problem for the staff, they catered to this well.

The hotel itself is well-located for the promenade, shops and bars (we actually found out that Llandudno has quite a bit of post-11pm nightlife!).

I loved our trip to The Risboro, excellent value for money and excellent entertainment. We'll definitely be back for Christmas 2012! Thanks Mark and co.

Room Tip: We went for two twin rooms which had been refurbished. Ask the staff and they'll try to put you...
