“Perfect Weekend”
Reviewed 3 March 2013

We booked a two night stay at St George's Hotel on a Groupon deal to celebrate my partners 50th birthday. We arrived early and on the off chance asked if we could check in before 2pm, the receptionist was very helpful, checked that our room was ready and allowed us to check in early. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean, a good size with a balcony and sea view. The bathroom was a good size with a lovely powerful shower. The bed was so comfortable and we had extra blankets, throws etc available if we needed them, although the room was so warm we didn't need them. The views were amazing, we walked The Great Orm on Sunday after a filling Welsh breakfast (we certainly needed the walk after that!) , the sun was out and it was a beautiful day. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially a lovely bubbly young lady called Daisy who made the most amazing hot chocolate for me after a 'bracing' evening walk and handled my partners sense of humor brilliantly!! We honestly wanted to stay longer and would highly recommend booking St George's - we will certainly be back in the future and recommend this hotel to friends an family. Thank you for a lovely break.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on a Groupon offer and from stepping through the door the service was second to none. The staff at St George are the most friendly we have ever come across. We ate in the restaurant on the first night which was lovely with brilliant service and then went out to Valentinos the second night,a lovely Italian restaurant recommended by Paul who was very helpful and informative.Breakfast on both mornings was fantastic, lots of choice for both continental and cooked breakfast, again served perfectly.
Thank you so much to all the staff at St George,we had a great couple of days.

We booked on a Groupon offer which represented great value. The room was small, clean and very comfortable with a sofa, desk, large screen LCD TV, iron & board an the ubiquitous tea and coffee making facilities! The bathroom was dinky - tight squeeze for two but a large bath with great shower over was perfect. The king sized bed was very comfy for those of us who like them on the harder side. It was a shame neither of the windows in the dual aspect bedroom had a view of anything other than more bedroom windows but we were in the cheap seats!

The full Welsh breakfast served with a sea view was absolutely fantastic and greatly appreciated precursor to a yomp up Great Orme! Bacon, egg, sausage, mushroom, fried toast, grilled tomato, baked beans, toast, tea, coffee, juice, cereal & fresh fruit. What more could you want?

All the staff were pleasant but we did feel like asking them to smile just a little more. Regardless it is nice to spend time in a historic hotel without the pomp and circumstance that some seem to have. Well done St. George's!

Not going to labour this review as there is simply nothing I can say other than truly superb. One of the best locations in the UK if not Europe, superb sea views, fantastic staff, excellent food and wine at acceptable prices for the the quality and service. Bar was sadly lacking in Bourbons and was on the expensive side of acceptable but this was made up for by a plethora of single malts.

I have know this hotel from childhood and have an huge soft spot for the town, location and property. My honest appraisal is the hotel is a good 4 star's but would need significant infrastructure improvement to become a 5 star should this be an aspiration of the current owners. I came to the hotel direct from a pretentious property on the Algarve, so my short stay in the St George was a very pleasant experience.

Mid week deals for B&B are surprisingly good value and would fit well within most business travellers budgets.

Room Tip: Views to the front, peace to the rear.

My parents have just been for a fantastic weekend away. They couldn't praise the hotel and the staff any more. The hotel was exactly what they wanted; not pretentious, not fussy, not stuffy. The room was lovely, the breakfasts perfect, and the staff were polite, friendly and very, very helpful. The hotel's location could not have been better, and the only thing wrong with their visit was that they were unable to stay for longer than they did. They will definitely be returning!

We picked this hotel at random to finish off celebrating my husbands 70th birthday he knew nothing about this surprise break we received a lovely welcome, our rooms were perfect even though there is some outside refurb going on attention to detail was still there we felt like home from home, nothing was to much trouble, the breakfast was excellent, also the evening dinner which was extra but well worth it, we have not been to Llandudno for years even though only a couple of hours away, it was cold and windy but we all wrapped up and enjoyed it we would definitely recommend this hotel and just in case u don't know it was the first hotel to be built in Llandudno we would stay there again thank you to all the staff ----- The four from Manchester

Thought the hotel was ideally situated to the town, pier and promenade. The decor and cleanliness were good. We found the staff friendly and helpful although under a little pressure when everyone seemed to arrive at the same time for breakfast!
We had the opposite problem to the previous writer because we were there when it was bitterly cold and the heating system had been switched off and the a/c turned on. As we did n't know we kept turning the temperature up and of course the room was getting colder until in desperation we phoned reception for help. Immediately a porter appeared with a portable heater and explained that because the previous weekend was warm the heating had been switched off! Seems a little strange but I must say we enjoyed our "Groupon" break and would like to return sometime.

Sorry for the slight delay in responding to your kind review and would have to agree that St George's is ideally located for being at the heart of Llandudno.
Now the weather has been between mild and bitterly cold and to explain there is the radiator thermostat which controls the temperature of the radiator and then air con is installed in all rooms which can also be used for heating. If the weather is mild or even warm then it is at it's best and much appreciated for cooling. I am glad to read one way or other you were comfortable and more importantly will be coming back to stay hopefully in the future.
kind regards
