“noisy next door.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

me and my boyfriend decided to stay out for the night in a local hotel as we have done before but chose the iris hotel this time instead of the other. we arrived at 8:30 last night and greeted by two nice girls on the desk, they where helpful when showing us to our room, the hotel looked modern and newly decorated, and the furniture was in excellent condition, when we arrived to the room, we noticed out over head light was loose, but wasnt a problem, also the tele kept freezing and we ended turning the tele off. the bed was comfyish i guess but the pillows where quite hard and worn, there was also a small brown stain near the top of the quilt cover, not too sure what that is though, i didnt sleep very well, as there was bangiong upstairs and a few disturbamnces, nevertheless my other half slept like a baby, but woke up with a bad neck, we where very impressed with the bathroom, the shower was impressive as it had several diffrent setting and shower heads, the shampoo wasnt all that great but hey ho, wasnt too impressed with the loud noisy coming from next door, people chatting and laughing at 6:30-7am, when we werent planning on waking up untill about 9, half nine, the walls must be paper thin as we could hear every word. we payed £35 for one night for a double room, wich was good value i suppose. maybe go back there in another room with not so noisy neighbours :)

Room Tip: we stayed in the annex building wich is downstairs and outside, the room wasnt very spacious

Stayed at the IRIS for 2 nights on our way south. Lovely huge room with plenty off sockets which makes a change for LLandudno.I like to do business on the Interweb, girlfriend likes to dry her hair
& my globe trotting clock had it's own one.
Warmest room i have ever stayed in & this is without the heating on,this augers well for the coming winter ladies.
I have read some reviews about this hotel, some people need to get out more ie if you can't work a shower stay home.
The staff were top notch & couldn't do enough. All the public areas were clean & tidy.
The breakfast was adequate, help yourself to toast if you can work a toaster that is.
Ask & you will receive with regards to breckie, the staff are not mind readers.
I would & have recommended the IRIS as a great stop off to chillax & unwind.
You pay for the room which is great ploy& good for singles,i would suggest ringing them up & see what the offers are.No car park but eh ho, you have from 4pm to 10am to park outside.
Enjoy.

Room Tip: 3rd Floor sea view.

Room was modern, looked recently done. However fittings cheap- fancy overhead reading lights, but loose fittings , dimmer switch fell off and no idea how to use the 'bendy extension'! Room superficially clean. Fancy shower with numerous operations - again impossible to work- with instructions outside shower.
Breakfast was chaos- much like previous reviewer wrote- it was like Fawlty Towers. Got tired of requesting to place our order, can we have milk? Can we have butter? Can we have bread? Where's the coffee? And only Apricot jam?
After all that- it was reasonably priced- and convenient.

Oh yes don't even try to get anything larger than a fiat panda in the 'car park'.

We stayed at the Iris for 2 nights while visiting family. We stayed in a top floor room having opted for a sea view. The room was lovely and quiet and we slept well on both nights. The bed was 2 single beds put together and it was noticable if you laid across the middle. That saod we slept well. The room key had been taped together and had to be pushed in hard to get it to work. As soon as we shut the room door it was apparent that the cleaner hoovers with the door open as there was thick dust on the carpet behind it. The shower controls were confusing and didnt do what the notice said. The staff at breakfast were very efficient and service was fast. I would stay again as on the whole it was a pleasant experience.

We stayed at this hotel for one night with 2 young children. We had a family room which had everything we needed, was modern and comfortable with a nice bathroom. Fabulous breakfast which set us up for the day. The location is great, right on the promenade and a short stroll to the pier and shops. Will definitely return!

My partner booked this hotel for us to have a long weekend away from the hussle and bussle of city life and I was under the impression that we would be staying in a cheap bnb type of accommodation. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the hotel on the outside and was escorted promptly to our room. The hotel itself is very clean and boasts modern decor inside the rooms, especially the bathroom. Granted, we were staying in 'The annex' which my partner persisted to call 'the shed'. But although it was away from the rest of the hotel I was very happy to have what felt like our own space and to be a stones throw away from breakfast, which I have to say was lovely! The customer service that the waiters provided was top quality and I enjoyed my breakfast every morning. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back soon.

Clean rooms, OK food, but most oddly managed. Dinner is available only if it is pre-ordered (not just table booked), breakfast is only available after 8 unless you are willing to pay £15 per head extra and even at 8 we had to sit for some time with no lights on while someone got the keys to reach the switch. No extra pillows were available - I asked and was told I already had my quota of 2, the door was left open after the room was cleaned, and to top it off, personal belongings were moved to another room mid-stay without any notification! This place is run like a B&B rather than a hotel, so if you don't expect too much it's fine, but if you expect to be treated like a paying guest rather than something of an inconvenience you might be better elsewhere.
