Appalling service from the manager here on Monday evening. I was sat drinking a hot chocolate with a friend who is trans. We were having a quiet chat when the manager came over and told us that he wanted us to leave as he didn't want us there. We had done nothing wrong and were very shocked by his treatment. I have made a formal complaint to head office and written reviews and messages to their facebook page, as yet these have received no response. If they ignore me, this will result in a hate crime being opened against them and stonewall will be involved. They can't get away with this time of behaviour. I am disgusted and appalled and 1 star is too much for these awful transphobic, antiquated attitudes.

“Good food, reasonably priced”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

If you are in Llandudno, try to visit this place once... it is a unique restaurant - an old theatre turned into a restaurant, a lot of the old features still maintained like the seats, the raised stage(where you have tables now), the soft lighting etc.. food is good and very very reasonably priced.

“Nothing Special”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

It's a shame that JDW have gone to some effort to preserve the theatre setting but seem to have stopped there. As other contributors have mentioned, there must be a better way to site the toliets than virtually in the roof! Dozens of steps and not very nicely kept on arrival. Take an oxygen supply and a gas mask!

Food service was very slow and presentation was poor. It filled a space - nothing more. Drinks prices were reasonable and the staff we encountered were friendly but seemed to be running round like headless chickens for no particular reason. No obvious management direction in evidence. We watched plates stacking up waiting for service, and waiting, and waiting...

It's in need of a makeover, more effective management and the toilets need re-siting. But all credit for trying to preserve a little of the Llandudno of yesteryear and worth a visit if only for that.

“Would give it a miss”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

From an architectural point it must have been a wonderful place at one time but as a place to eat it's ghastly. It is dark and dingy , very noisy and dirty looking. My friend and I walked out in disgust.
