“Would not stay there again.”

Very welcome to take your £130 for the night then find you are in an average room with towel rail on FULL. Chris who came up to 'help did not want to know. Very cheeky. DO NOT. STAY THERE. No common courtesy for Paying guests who in turn pay the staff of St Tudno's hotel. They have a lot to earn.

We had a very pleasant stay in this charming and comfortable hotel. What impressed us most was the staff for whom nothing was too much trouble and who were unfailingly courteous and good humoured no doubt following the lead of the hands on owner.

My wife and I stayed at the St Tudno hotel for four nights in June 2013 and had a great time. The superior room was lovely, with a four poster bed. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The food was fantastic with tremendous attention to detail by the restaurant staff. The hotel is conveniently located for the pier and the main shopping area of Llandudno being literally 2 minutes walking distance. We loved it and would certainly stay there again if we revisit Llandudno.

Room Tip: Choose a superior room if possible

My Wife & I spent the weekend in Llandudno and opted to stay at the St.Tudno hotel. I chose this hotel based on the reviews on Tripadvisor which are largely positive.
We arrived at the hotel at 12.30 and received a warm welcome from the reception staff. Our room was not ready but the cases were stored and were in the room when we arrived back later in the day. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed.
We sat in the bar area and enjoyed a bottle of wine. The wine selection was extensive and once again the service was very good. The staff were attentive and seem coached to focus on customer service. My Wife wanted some nibbles like olives or something but this was unavailable so she ended up with a bread roll. Note to the hotel bar staff, maybe nuts or olives could be available if required by a guest in the bar.
The quality of the food at breakfast was fine and the service was OK. It’s only a minor grumble but I asked for toast instead of a starter and was a little unhappy that 2 tables seated after me received toast before me. I had to ask again in fact although it arrived quickly this time. Overall, breakfast on both days was very nice and I enjoyed a coffee after eating in the bar area sat by the fire.
I notice that people constantly mention the cost of the rooms. You have to take into account the overall experience of staying at the St. Tudno including its location, facilities, comfortable rooms, good customer service and quality breakfast service. When I reviewed where to stay, the 2 other hotels I shortlisted were the same price although considerably larger venues. Talking to other guests there is no doubt that the St. Tudno has many regular guests who visit each year so the owner is doing many things right.

We have stayed here on several occasions, most recently for 3 nights from 10 June. It is well situated near the pier and has its own parking at the rear - a must when Llandudno is busy. Also if one does find a parking spot at the front the hotel provides a parking permit allowing free parking. We have stayed in rooms with a sea view and without. They have all been very comfortable with good amounts of hanging and drawer space. A little bonus is the Molton Brown toilletries provided in the ensuite bathrooms. There is a lift so no need to carry luggage upstairs. The beautiful restaurant serves a very high standard of gourmet dinners, there is a good choice of wine and the breakfasts are also excellent. When the weather permits there are a few tables outside at the front for afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks etc. The bar and the lounge are comfortably furnished and have sea views. Mr Bland, the owner, and the staff are all very pleasant and helpful. We have found this an excellent place to stay in a lovely part of the world.

We stayed here May 2013 for 2 nights and were in room 18 on the third floor.
For what you get it's damn expensive.
The room was pokey we had to move a bed to reposition the cot and there was dirt under the bed where the bed had clearly not been moved when the room was previously cleaned.
We had no hot water. I was even up at 6am on the Sunday (we have a baby!) and from 6 to 8 am there was no hot water. I was hoping to have a bath but it wasn't hot enough. The shower was the same temperature too.
My wife complained on departure but the lady on reception didn't even apologise and assured us the boiler was fine!
The male waiter we had was rude.
The place is for sale and perhaps the staff are worried about the outcome of this.
Over priced by far for what it is.
The breakfast was superb but in view of the comments above this hotel is over charging and we won't be returning.
R, Lancs.

We are very sorry to hear the above comments. The guests concerned had a recently decorated bedroom in Laura Ashley which is a popular room. It is at the top of the building reached by the lift and has a double bed and a single bed. A cot in the room does reduce the floor space somewhat but the room cannot be regarded as pokey.

The housekeeping should have been better for which we apologise and they have been informed. Unfortunately we did have an issue with the boiler overnight and British Gas was called immediately with all guests concerned given an apology. Everybody was very understanding.

Sadly these sorts of problems can occur and it is obviously of more concern when you have a young child to look after. I certainly do not understand the fact that no apology was given because that is exactly what we were giving our guests. The British Gas engineers managed to fix the boiler very quickly and possibly by the time the guests came to check out the work had been completed.

Our male waiter was in fact our Restaurant Manager who is absolutely charming and is complimented upon very regularly by our guests, so I do not understand what happened here.
Again we apologise to these guests for their unfortunate experience. This is not what the St Tudno is all about. We will happily compensate these guests if they wish to make contact with us.

My husband & I ate dinner at The St Tundro last night, and just wished we had been staying there as well for the Bank Holiday weekend! Where should I start with my superlatives? The food was absolutely perfect. We ate from the early dinner menu and it is rare indeed to get three exceptional dishes. The twice cooked duck egg and ham hock starter served with 'posh' toast soldiers was inventive and beautifully presented. This was followed by a simple dish of grilled fillets of plaice (not a single bone) served with crushed jersey royals, peas & spinach and the best hollandaise I have tasted for a long time. Dessert was a raspberry and marscapone fool with crushed meringue. Each dish was well presented with a focus on quality instead of quantity. The service was immaculate and the dining room very quirky. It is a million miles away from the minimalist interiors that are fashionable at the moment but works just brilliantly - I'll leave the details as a surprise for you! All the staff are charming, attentive and very proffesional. The bar/lounge feels like you have travelled back a few decades to a far more civilised era. The understated Britishness of this jewel of a hotel on the Promenade is wonderful. With the greatest of respect to the the owner this is Fawlty Towers without a single fault and 5 plus stars! We absolutely loved our evening here and will be returning very soon. Thank-you St Tundro for making a rainy Bank Holiday Monday so special!
