A lovely restaurant with good food and friendly staff. We went there for a family birthday having visited the restaurant on several occasions.

As always we had no complaints about the food or service. Everyone enjoyed the evening, which was very good value for money.

I have only given 4 stars overall because the restaurant is very small, with the tables very close together. On the evening we visited it seemed that one man in particular did not realise that the people he was with were actually seated at the same table - his foghorn-like voice seemed to reverberate around the whole room. In the end this became quite intrusive.

I researched places to eat in Llandudno very well and after reading glowing reviews settled on Candles. We decided on the 4 course set menu. All I can say is this. The tables are too close together as you can't have a conversation without your neighbours hearing everything you say and we hearing everything they say. The food is very basic and not what I expected. The tomato and mozzarella was raw tomato slices with the cheese cooked on top, very strange. The peppered chicken breast was pieces of chicken cooked in a very black peppery sauce which was so hot it was hard to eat. Then came the apple pie which I believe was not made from fresh apples and broken bits of pastry with a scoop of ice cream. Maybe we shouldn't have chosen the set menu. The staff were friendly and service was good. Just disappointed as was looking forward to a good relaxing meal.

Visited here for a birthday celebration, the restaurant is almost hidden from street level but don't let that out you off. Excellent atmosphere inside, a warm greeting as soon as I walked in from a waitress with "manageress" pinned to her. The table was laid out perfectly, and drinks were dealt with professionally. The meal was excellent value for money, amongst the best in Llandudno and incredibly tasty, with very generous portions! :) our server, the manageress was polite and attentive throughout, ensuring each and every one of us was looked after - fantastic service that really added to the evening so she deserves commendation! We certainly will return here - thank you

This is like eating in a long lost aunt's living room, a true delight. Have no expectations and you won't be disappointed. A good range of wholesome home cooked treats, and lovely wine to boot. Relaxed atmosphere, booking essential.

Just visited this place again. Absolutely flawless. The food is amazing. Thank you for another lovely meal. Thanks to the girls for excellent service. We are always made to feel very welcome and not rushed.
This is our all time favourite restaurant.
I just wish the onion soup was on the menu permanently. It's delicious.
Thank you. See you again soon x
