“Another perfect relaxing stay at the Escape Cottage”

Another lovely stay at the cottage, this time with our sixteen month old grandson. The cottage is just across the road from the tram station, so great for our grandson to watch the trams go by. The cottage is in a perfect location for visiting the shops and the promenade. When visiting Llandudno this is the only cottage for us, it has everything you could need for a self catering holiday, a well equipped kitchen, with lots of thoughtful extras for everyday use. Plenty of big fluffy towels, comfy beds and lovely views over Llandudno. The cottage is so quaint with lovely tasteful decor, where modern meets vintage with the added touches of Cath Kidston. Cant wait to stay here again next time we need a short break.

Dear Roy & Janet,

It was lovely to welcome you back to the cottage, thank you for visiting again. I'm so glad that it was a success as far as your grandson was concerned. Like you say, children love watching the trams go by & enjoy waving to the passengers onboard. I hope that we have the pleasure of seeing you all again soon. Thanks again & kind regards, Gaenor.

“Lovely place to Escape to”
Reviewed 20 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Wow, what a lovely place to stay. Very clean and tidy and everything you could need.
I'm jealous of the furnishings, I may have to go home and redecorate.
The location is perfect to walk to Llandudno centre. Near by is a lovely fish and chip shop, a pub that sells very nice food and the Tram that goes up the great Orme. (My little boy spent a lot of time waving at the Trams). There are two bedrooms, one a double and one with two singles ( with enough room to put a travel cot up) and a lovely garden.
It is very comfy and cosy and hope to be back again.

Thank you so much for submitting a lovely review. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the cottage & liked the interior. We had great fun furnishing the cottage in the cute retro style. Hopefully it won't be too long before we're welcoming you back. Thanks again, Gaenor.

Dear Natalie,

Thank you very much for the lovely review. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay in the cottage / here in Llandudno. Hopefully, it won't be too long before we have the pleasure of your visit again. Like you say, although we don't have wifi in the cottage, it is readily available in town & at our B&B just down the road.

Thanks again & kind regards,
Gaenor.

“Perfect cottage and location”
Reviewed 8 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We stayed at the cottage to attend 'The Gathering' with The Alarm at the Venue Cymru. We were greeted by Gaenor and Sam with a warm welcome. The cottage was compact but cosy with everything you could need. There was welcoming touches, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, chocolate cookies, fresh flowers in the lounge and bedroom. The beds are really comfy. We bought our dog with us and the enclosed front garden was perfect for him. It is in a great location, the Kings Head Pub just across the road which was dog friendly with log fires and great pub food. If you fancy something a bit more upmarket, the Cottage Loaf does great food but do not accept dogs. We ate at the Bengal Lancer (great) and also had fish and chips from The Tram Fish & Chips (the best we've tasted)! We had lovely walks round the Great Orme and took the dog for lovely runs on the West shore beach. The walk along the promenade is great too. It's still a lovely bustling seaside town, with still plenty of life in the winter months. There is a leisure park about a 10 min drive away with Swimming Pool, Bowling, Cinema, supermarkets and big stores. Unfortunately the tram and cable car where not running in the winter. Would love to return in the summer months. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage. Thanks Gaenor & Sam x

Escape is the most gorgeous little holiday cottage. We loved the cosy, tasteful decor with some really nice decorative touches - it felt just like being at home (only better!). The cottage is located right in the centre of town, but on a quiet little row near to the tram station. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen was certainly the best stocked holiday let we've ever had. We particularly liked the balcony which led from the main bedroom and which had great views. We've already recommended it to friends and we can't wait to go back again ourselves!

“Compact Cottage needing attention”
Reviewed 24 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Escape Cottage was very clean and a good location for shops and beach although the garden was overgrown and in need of attention
Very popular pub nearby with live music every other Sunday till 10 pm
However the stairs were steep with no handrail and protruding carpet tacks. There was a large stain to sofa seat, protruding screw to shower and a toilet seat lid that wouldn't stay up. Not keen on the plastic backed mattress covers.
The kitchen equipment was also a bit sparse and parking not always easy.

I am so sorry that you felt that the cottage was in need of attention. This was not mentioned on your departure so unfortunately, I was not given the opportunity to discuss any issues with you personally.

However, after reading your comments about the lawn in the guest book I contacted you to explain that unfortunately the grass had not been cut during you stay due to the to the fact that it had rained heavily on the day that the gardener was due.

I am so sorry that you felt that the kitchen equipment was lacking. We have never had this comment before & I have now purchased the salad bowl you felt was needed.

Again, with reference to your dislike of mattress protectors. We conducted lengthy research to ensure that they were of a quiet nature & hope that most guests would understand why they are required, especially when we cater for young families. However, you were at liberty to remove them should they have caused you too much discomfort.

The sofas in the lounge were new in February & were Scotchguarded. We were dismayed to find that after only a couple of weeks there had been a spillage & I had not been notified. Were are currently in the process of negotiating with the manufacturer re the removal of the stain. However, in the meantime, the stain is not visible as clean throws have been placed on the seats themselves.

The live music played at the Kings Head is performed on Sundays only throughout August & has proved very popular with most of our guests - some re-booking specifically for this.

We take guests' comfort & enjoyment very seriously so were most upset by your comprehensive list of points. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. The guests departing ahead of you commented that it was the best holiday they had ever had & the guests arriving this week are here for their 4th stay in 18 months!

Kind regards, Gaenor.
