“4 Days at The Grand Llandudno”

Comfortable room. Entertainment rubbish. Bingo prices very expensive. Food not bad except had to have dinner at 5.30pm! Sandwiches in the bar freshly made and good value for money. Disabled toilets need chcking more often and bins emptied more often.

Room Tip: Had a room on 2nd floor at the back of hotel looking out over the road but did not hear much traffic...

my mum and i enjoyed our overnight stay here. Room was adequate and clean. We had an early morning visitor Sally the SEAGULL tapping on our window awaking us. Dinner & breakfast were ok although a little hetic and part of the dining room was not open even thou there was a big queue. The entertainment was good a quiz bingo and an excellent singer called SHAUN GAHAN. Would stay again and Llandudno lovely place very clean and unspoilt.

I'll keep this brief - I was very disappointed.

For its fabulous location on the pier overlooking the ocean the place is very badly dated.

Don't get me wrong the staff on arrival were superb - chatty and friendly - but the decor is in serious need of updating. This applies to the public areas, including the carpeted-wall elevators, and the bedrooms.

We had breakfast included and I for one tend to fill up in the morning, but not this time. All of the food in the trays just tasted cheap and everything was luke warm. You didn't even toast your own bread as it was already toasted (and now cold) in a pile.

You even had to get up to get your own coffee despite there being four or five staff members standing idle. The vast majority of guests were elderly so someone walking around with tea and coffee would go a long way.

I was back in Llandudno a few weeks later and opted to stay somewhere else.

Just come home from a weekend at the Grand and we loved it. When i booked i asked for a quiet room away from the ballroom and we had a standard room with a sea view and it was lovely. No faults at all. Plenty of room and lovely and clean. 3rd floor so we didnt hear any noise at night. The staff in this place are amazing. They are all so friendly and helpful, from the reception to bar staff, dining room staff and cleaners. They are a credit to the hotel. The food was lovely, 4 choices for evening meals and everything to choose from for breakfast. I,d thought of upgrading to *premier dining* but i,m glad we didnt because the only difference (apart from the price) in the premier dining is you have a sea view but its the same meals, you still go to the buffett to serve yourself and while we were there, there were only a couple of people in there so they looked isolated to be honest. It was far more friendly and relaxing in the main dining room, lovely atmosphere and no big queue for meals. The entertainment is brilliant too. I cant fault this hotel at all. We were out all day (Conway in the open top bus, the West Shore on the little train, a boat ride,) and it was lovely to go back to the hotel and sit in the big coffee lounge and relax and chat to people while we waited for our evening meal. If you decide to go and you do have any problems at all, just see reception, they cant do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble. We cant wait to go again, its was lovely.

Room Tip: Ask to have a sea view on a higher floor, theres plenty of lifts and you wont be disturbed by any no...

Booked 4 rooms for w/e, at excellent price so not expecting much. Rooms differed in size, and one smelt strongly of smoke and couldn’t be relocated until second night.
Rooms clean , crisp white sheets, but all the rooms had peeling wallpaper, and sad ensuites. TV no remote control.
Breakfasts great value, ( no mushrooms) and all self service . Views from front bedrooms must be spectacular across bay and Llandudno promenade.
Staff fabulous, friendly and very helpful . With bit of spit and polish the Grand could be grander.

We booked the hotel for some friends and visited them whilst they stayed. This is one of the Britannia Hotels and is adjacent to the pier and has outstanding views across the sea, amazing and really nice at night. Llandudno is a nice Victorian place and this hotel added to the feel of the no hustle resort. We admit we booked because of a special offer but it really is a great place and with so much inside, a member of staff said it used to be a Butlins Hotel so that tells you how Grand some of the rooms are!!!!
