We had a lovely stay at this hotel.

Staff were excellent, room was clean and cosy, outside balcony décor needs some TLC, food was typical English seaside hotel food, plentiful and fairly tasty!
The piece d'resistance however was the incredible view from our room.
Overlooking the beautiful bay. You can go a long way in this world and you won't see anything more beautiful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will go back again!

Stayed 3 nights as part of a coach break. We were in a standard room which was small and tired (although the bathroom had been refurbished). The room was clean and was serviced every morning. Good value for what we paid.
Service - ALL staff were friendly, helpful and did a good job
Breakfast - self service, good choice. We fuelled ourselves for the day!
Dinner - self service. 3 courses. Starter was soup or salad every night. Main course was roast or fish or salad every night. Choice of hot and cold deserts.
Food General - for what we paid there are no complaints. Basic meat and 2 veg but plenty of it.
Entertainment - the 2 "resident" singers Samantha Conway and Andrew Hurrell were EXCELLENT! They should both be entertaining at a much higher level. See them here while you can - they will go far.
Bars - comfortable with reasonably priced drinks (£3.20 per pint and from £12.00 for a bottle of wine).
For the price we paid, The Grand offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended for a cheap short break.

we enjoyed our stay the Grand hotel, we had read previous reviews and took advice in upgrading to premier rooms, each had a small balcony and fabulous sea views ---well worth the extra few pounds ,the meals were good with a selection of foods to suit all diets,
would recommend ignoring the tired exterior and creaking floor boards once inside the facilities are very good.

Room Tip: pay little extra for premier room ,seaview

The reception is a welcoming site as you walk into this Victorian style hotel with nice décor and friendly staff. This was the same in most of the reception rooms on the lower floors. We had booked into a standard room which had 2 beds a double and a single. The only problem was the room was too small and both my wife and I struggled to walk passed the end of the beds. The TV was a old 14 inch which was that small I was hard to see from the far side of the room. The shower room was clean but was old and some of the sealant was missing from around the the shower. The room was warm and was facing The Great Orme. In short the room was old décor and in need of updating. WiFi is free but only works on the ground floor which isn't much good if like us your on the second floor.
Food wise this was excellent as we had breakfast and evening meals, both were plentiful and of good quality for the buffet style which all meals were.
To sum up Yes I would stay here again even though there was no where to park our car( we left it in a street about 5 min walk).

Room Tip: Book a Premier room and pay the extra.

We're to begin. The positive things first, the location of the hotel is excellent and the sea view from our room was a bonus, the staff were friendly and check in prompt. Ok now the rest the decor was tired poorly maintained and dirty. We stayed on the fourth floor and the corridor leading to our room had wet paint warnings all along it, the smell of paint was everywhere. Filthy dust sheets were on the corridor floor and were a definate trip hazzard, as well as being unsightly. The room itself was basic and the furniture was very dated. The bathroom was in need of a deep clean the shower cubicle tiles were full of mildew and it felt generally very grubby there was no drinking water and so was buying bottled water throughout our stay. The rooms above had squeeky floorboards which drove you mad. We stayed 2 nights b&b, breakfast was poor the quality of the food was dreadful, cheap products used and very little choice, no baked beans, no mushrooms, no hash browns, no black pudding. The second
morning we didn't have breakfast and went elsewhere. So to sum up, good location, pleasant staff but dreadful room, hotel cleanliness and food.

Stayed at the Grand Hotel room fantastic for the price nice sea view room, facilities poor, two tea bags, two coffee, 4 uht milk, but the room clean and tidy.

On booking in quite disappointing to have to listen to two staff members whinging about their working hours and having to keep the bar open for residents at night……, not the best first impression for guests.

Breakfast disappointing timings arrived the breakfast room to be greeted with, Good Morning Mate, we don’t open till 8 am it was 7.45, was not even offered the opportunity to have a tea or coffee while we waited. The hotel mainly caters for large coach parties so I imagine that this is to allow the coach parties to have breakfast and depart.

We waited until 8 am in an anti room to return to the breakfast room to see a very large coach party queue about 50 people, we did not stay for breakfast as I could imagine the scrabble for tables, tea, coffee and food.

I travel extensively and find it strange to have such a late timing it only leads to large queues, which make it difficult for the staff and disappointment for the guests.
