“Gorgeous Views and Wildlife”
Review of Great Orme

Great Orme
Reviewed 13 December 2013

We drove up to the top and t was WELL worth it! We were able to meet some of the wild goats, see the old Church, the copper mine, and then wander around at the top of the Orme taking pictures of the spectacular views.

I can well imagine it is just manic here in the summer, but it would still be worth all the traffic to go up.

Llandudno is a well laid out resort with a well kept promenade looking over the bay, We took the toll road round Ormes head and then up to the top. A light bite at the cafe (toasted cheese)and good panoramic photos from the head .

Next stop was Colwyn Bay. What a dump!

We loved our walk up the Orme the views are excellent and the area a lot more extensive than I imagined. Having said that you never feel lost or worried about your location there are plenty of signpost and well laid out paths. This is the first time we have been there and would like to try again when the tram is in operation it looks a good experience, the down side to that would be the crowds which we did not encounter on a wind swept day at the end of November. We walked up from Happy Mount Park up past the ski slope and found this accent quite easy our return route was past the copper mine and down through Haulfre Gardens which was a lot steeper so I would recommend our route.

This may sound strange but the cliff is best visited when there is a gale blowing makes you feel alive. The view is spoilt by those monsters (Wind Turbines out at sea) However cauition is required if the wind is offshore its quite dangerous you could get blown off also beware of falling rocks. Great 2 hours spent up there with majestic views
