“Our stay at Chatsworth House Hotel”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Overall the Hotel facilities were reasonable for a property of this age, many of the rooms having been recently refurbished.
The Staff were pleasant enough and willing to help however there were some shortcomings with their organisation.
The restaurant Staff seemed to work hard but the 'waiting to be served' times varied greatly and were often lengthy. Frequently the emphasis was on setting tables for the next sitting whilst Guests had to wait long periods for their next course., On a more serious note - the Fire Alarm was activated at about midnight on the final night of our stay. Everyone assembled outside the front entrance where chaos reigned. No staff were initially present and Guests were left to wonder what had happened or what was required of them. Eventually a type of roll call was performed by two staff members but the effectiveness or success of this action was far from convincing. Guests eventually started to drift back into the building after the fire brigade had arrived but again no formal instructions were given by the staff. All in all this was a far from satisfactory operation and by pure luck the reason for the alarm was minor - we believe - we dread to imagine what would have been the outcome if a more serious incident had occurred More emergency training is certainly urgently needed. On a more happy note, the food in the restaurant was very good on the whole with very generous portions. The evening entertainment was acceptable but some guests would have liked a Bingo session, not us we hasten to add ! The arrangements for the passage of guests through the performance area was far from satisfactory, all passing between the artiste and the audience, which was very distracting and sometimes embarrassing for those concerned Thankfully our stay was a short one luckily with friends who also share our views!

Room Tip: Side rooms were of good size and sunny.

We arrived on Friday with National, Not Impressed that we were not advised what was to happen when keys were collected had to order an evening meal. Hubster signing in so ordered me lamb. Room was excellent window would not open wide due to flat roof so a bit stuffy. Friday meal was to die for. Saturday meal ok but let down by the tardiness of waitress. Breakfast adequate for me but good for some one who is not as fussy as me (believe me I am).Entertainment brilliant beer in bar VERY good for a hotel. All round would recommend and hope to go back. Location excellent

Stayed here on a mon-fri break with national. Food basic, very little choice at dinner. Staff on reception, lounge bar & cleaners lovely. Restaurant staff less so, got our orders wrong a couple of times, we waited a long time for kids pizzas one night and 1 older waiter seemed incapable of getting our order right and was too busy chatting to older guests to care! We were on the first dinner sitting so unfortunately no matter how long they took to serve the food we still had to be out for 7 so the 2nd sitting could come in. Room very basic, no opening window in mine (306) but a door out to a 'balcony' which with a toddler in my room I couldn't use as it wasn't safe. Evening entertainment catered for older guests, kids made unwelcome by some of the acts. Not good for a family hotel on school half term week! Pool adequate, ladies changing room needs to be bigger with a private cubicle, my mum dressed in the toilet. Location and town lovely - partly made up for it. I would return to Llandudno but not sure if I would come back to this hotel. To top it off, there was a minor fire in the hotel laundry on our last night which had us evacuated to the promenade at 12.30am. No apology from any staff and the smoke had me coughing all night.

In general every where is clean. Staff friendly enough but at times found some difficult to understand. Beds are not for comfort and have curled up on more comfortable floors. Food was edible but was more like supermarket food heated in a microwave. This hotel was not our choice but a coach trip.

Room Tip: Try to ensure room over looks bay.

Great staff, very friendly. The place was clean and modern, where important. Pool was excellent and not busy. Breakfast was delicious. Could not find a fault! I have recommending this to my friends and family already.

Room Tip: Sea-view rooms are great but you will be woken by the seagulls! A view of the mountains out the back...

A lovely hotel which made the weekend. The hotel was clean and well furnished. The room was lovely and newly decorated. It had a stunning sea view which made every morning!
The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly.
I have already recommend this hotel to my family and can't wait to stay again!
