“Beautiful room, lovely hosts”
Reviewed 7 October 2012

We have just got back from a lovely weekend in Llandudno. We managed to get a room at the Clontarf thanks to a last minute cancellation. Our room was beautiful, on the top floor, lovely and quiet and nicely decorated in a contemporary style. The bathroom was great, with his and hers sinks, and both a shower cubicle and a freestanding bath. We particularly loved the views of the Great Orme from our room, even when lying in bed. What a sight to wake up to! The bed was comfortable, there were ample toiletries; it totally exceeded our expectations. We opted for the cooked Welsh breakfast in the morning and they even had a selection of teas, which was great as I only like green and fruit teas. While there was off-street parking, there was also ample on-street parking, and was close enough to the sea that you could smell the sea breeze. Fantastic! We will definitely return.

We were greeted by Mark our host who explained what was where, the Honesty bar and then carried the bags to the room, advised were things were and how the shower worked, with attention as to how to adjust the temperature!!
The room was equipped with excellent toiletries, plus cotton wool buds and pads, and had a view of the West Shore.
The Welsh Breakfast was well presented and HOT which is a plus for us as we love hot
(temperature not meaning spicy) food for breakfast particularly.
Information on the local area was given in booklet form and recommendation by Mark and Joni.
Location by the Orme was ideal for us with the views, short walk to the town and facilities, do not miss the cable car ride to the top of the Orme, stunning.
We would use this hotel again.
One of our friends decided to stay an extra night and had to change rooms due to bookings, again this was an excellently presented room, although smaller than their previous one.

Absolutely brilliant, Rooms were very modern and very spacious and comfortable great breakfasts and incredibly friendly owners and staff.

Rooms have a great view of the Great Orme and the location is great, 20 metres from the West beach for a summer holiday or lovely walk to Conwy or around Great Orme.

10 minutes into town for some great restaurant recommended by the owners.

Recommend to anyone, and in fact already have.

We arrived at the Clontarf and were greated by the owner. Our room was on the first floor and had a lovely sofa in the bay window as well as our kingsize electric bed. I think the sofa was a bed too but didn't try it. Posh toiletries in the bathroom and a hot shower, what more could you ask. As the Clontarf is set back fron the sea front there isn't much of a view but it's lovely and quiet and the service is excellent. The Hotel has an honesty bar which I think is a nice touch. Breakfast (Welsh of course) was ample and well presented. Wish we had stayed another nght.

Chose to have a impromptu weekend break and couldn't have chosen a better place. Hospitality was absolutely first class thanks to Joni and Mark. A fabulous guest house full of character and charm with delightful rooms. This little gem by the seaside is a must if you are visiting this part of the beautiful North Wales coast...

Will definitely return soon.
