“Superb dog friendly Hotel”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights from the 21st-23rd May 2014 with our dog Roxy.

We received a warm welcome from Mark and Joni the owners.

These two lovely people can not do enough for you. The hotel is of a very high clean standard. The breakfast was superb, and even the dog got offered a sausage for breakfast, nice touch.

We stayed in Room 3, which was a large room with a very large electric bed. With a spa style shower with radio inside. There was water, juices, chocolate bars, sweets, tea and coffee making facilities and television. There was also a large settee which was lovely to relax on.

Excellent car parking facilities.

There was a bar downstairs with a lovely lounge room for relaxing, we had our breakfast in this room so the dog could be with us, so we could enjoy our breakfast together.

We have absolutely no hesitations in recommending and will be returning for sure in the near future.

Room Tip: Room 3 lovely big room at the front of the hotel, you will not be disappointed I assure you.

Arrived Sunday the 18th May for 3 nights, We had the downstairs bedroom which was ideal as we had our dog Teddy with us, it was easier to take him for early walks and not disturb the other Guest. From the moment we arrived mark made us feel very comfortable and the room was lovely, one of the nicest we had stayed it. We brought a friend who stayed in room 3, she thought it was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable, she said it was the best night sleep she has had in a long time. Mark and Joni have thought of everything to make your stay very pleasant. The breakfast was yummy lots of choice and lovely fresh produce, Joni could'nt do enough for you. When you come to stay in Llandudno, look no further this is the place to stay,

From the moment you arrive you are met with a genuine warmth, and a cup of tea if required.
Joni and Mark are superb hosts, nothing is too much trouble, the room we stayed in was no. 4 ground floor, a large pleasant room with a nice touch, a bowl of sweets, bottle of Welsh filtered water, plus two fruit juices left daily. The bed is so comfortable you are certain of a good nights sleep, the shower room is small, but exquisite. The choice at breakfast is vast, with fresh fruit, cereals, and a fry up to satisfy anyone. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Llandudno just a few yards from the sea, and a short walk to the town centre, they have a small car park but off street parking is not a problem. If you visit Llandudno a stay at the Clontarf is a must

Visited May 11th to 13th 2014.
Great greeting on arrival and shown to our room ( number 2). Very helpful with guides on best walks into the main town. We chose the invalids walk at the base of the big Orme which was the scenic route after a short climb it levels off and has some lovely views.
Lovely bedroom with loads of space. Absolutely loved the settee in room to sit on and the views of the Orme out of the victorian windows. Nice to see the wild mountain goats off the Orme wandering along the road in a morning looking for a garden to breakfast in.
Great nights sleep, excellent choice of breakfast and they even cook an evening meal if ordered in advance.
Very helpful and attentive owners who are always asking if everything is okay for you.
The hotel is located on the west side of Llandudno which is really nice, quiet and peaceful, but close enough for a walk into the main town if you wish to do so.
Highly recommended and when you read the reviews having stayed their we can understand why people go back and stay again. Definitely on our need to return list

Situated in the quieter part of Llandudno, the Clontarf Hotel is a delightful place to stay. The rooms are bright and spacious. The lounge a peaceful place to read and the honour bar is a great idea, with good wine and beer at very reasonable prices. Joni makes breakfast a very pleasant experience and is so efficient it all seems so effortless. Where others would be rushing around it all just seems to appear as if by magic and the vegetarian options is a great idea that I wish others would implement. Although the rooms have been recently refurbished, the bathroom we had was already showing some signs of hard wear associated with high humidity, something good ventilation would fix. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would happily return as Llandudno and the Clontarf seems to be a place where you could relax for a week

Just on my way back from a stay at this lovely hotel. More than just a B&B with excellent prices compared to other places I passed that looked grim.
We stayed in room 3 which had the biggest bed I've ever been in that moved up and down remotely and had a shower that doubled as a sauna. Excellent in-room facilities and the staff were lovely! Room was spotless and huge with a sofa and tv with freeview. DVDs can be found downstairs.
Only booked this as a spur of the moment last minute and so glad we did. Will definitely be returning for a long weekend soon to make use if the excellent facilities on offer!!

Clontarf Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. My girlfriend and I stayed for a night and with a tour of the facilities and some friendly suggestions for where to eat on arrival, we felt right at home. The bed was wonderful, and we had a peaceful nights sleep before setting off in the morning. We couldn't have been happier, and we're already planning on coming back in the summer!
