We booked a three night stay at Can-y-Bae for my sister, my husband and myself. I foolishly forgot to ask if there were any difficult stairs, but we were able to take our time in getting down to the dining room and all was well. We were unable to get sea view rooms, but apart from that, just about every part of our stay was absolutely great. We were thoughtfully allocated ajacent rooms which were scrupulously clean and well equipped. The food was was carefully chosen, well cooked and attractively presented. The best part of our stay, however, lay in the welcome given and the lovely atmosphere our hosts created in the hotel. it was rather like being guests at a rather superior and very enjoyable house party. A wonderful few days away - thanks to Can-y Bae.

I stayed here for a few days recently and found the property via Trip Advisor. That wasn't hard as it sits there as the No.1 hotel in town. It's a small hotel, a boutique property I guess. From the outside it looks like another B&B in the long terrace of properties along the Promenade. But it also serves dinner, it has a bar and it has a lift to every floor. So it ticks all the hotel boxes bar car parking. But parking on the Promenade is only three pounds all day and I found a spot right outside the front door. There is ample free parking in the side streets nearby, albeit for only 90 minutes at a time. By the way Mostyn Crescent didn't register in my sat nav so finding the hotel was a little confusing. It turns out that Mosytn Crescent is aka The Promenade (or a part of it), Mostyn being the postal address of the hotel. So head to the prom and the hotel is a block or two down from the theatre complex.

My room was on the top floor and was large and well equipped. My only real niggle would be the same for any conversion of an old house into a small hotel (or B&B). The walls and floors can be thin, so you hear the building. Then the ensuite bathroom here, like many other small properties, uses a plumbing device that enables toilets where full plumbing is not possible - but they are not quiet when in use. My unit also seemed to gurgle through the night randomly and you hear other units in use in other rooms all night. To the latter I say 'let it mellow' during the night if you can.

My room overlooked the promenade and the sea but I should just mention that it is a fairly busy road. If you want quiet then close the window and the double glazing takes care of that noise very well but the room soon gets stuffy. So if you like to sleep with the window open and (light) traffic noise during the night is an issue for you then a room to the back of the hotel may be best, but you'd be loosing a terrific outlook.

I didn't eat dinner at the hotel, but breakfast was done very well, the poached eggs score being perfect.

Room Tip: All floors are serviced by a lift. The front of the hotel faces the sea, but the road can be noisy

What a wee gem!!! Perfect location, perfect decor and food and of course perfect hosts!! So glad we found Can-Y-Bae (and Llandudno!). Attention to detail excellent, rooms better equipped than many large hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was lovely and served with many smiles! We had our dog with us and were delighted to find a lovely venue which also accepted our "family friend", obviously Mike and Dave and both dog lovers too!!! Will definitely be back and will highly recommend to our family and friends.

We have stayed at this venue before and keep going back, the owners are so welcoming and hospitable and take a real interest in their guests. Mike and Dave make you feel so at home and the service is great.

The meals are always nice and well worth the price and what ever option you choose is always beautifully cooked and well presented.

Is also the perfect location to stay if attending a show at the Venue Cymru theater.

Thanks again Mike and Dave and we look forward to staying again very soon.

Room Tip: All rooms are great.

Lovely small hotel. Our room was spaciouse with a lovely view over the bay. David and Micheal were very welcoming and friendly. We booked a second stay as soon as we got home.
I would have liked a little more variety for breakfast not beeing a fan of full English.
Strongly recommended

Room Tip: Ask for bay view
