“5 Star Diamond”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2010

Just a quick line,to say we found a diamond in Can-y-Bae,from the moment we checked in, the warmth, humour and attention to detail was second to none.
Ideally sitting on the promenade, close to all attractions i would recommend it to both business and leisure users.
The breakfasts are excellent, with evening meal menu a delight, both Dave and Michael deserve all the accolades and awards they have received to date.
One last line forget the rest stay at the best.......you will not be disappointed

We will be back soon

Regards Ian & Sheila Terry

My husband and I stayed at Can-y-Bae for 4 nights from Bank Holiday Monday. We found this hotel to be excellent in every way, it was a great find. When we arrived Michael immediately made us feel at home. We had a lovely room with beautiful views, very comfortable bed, most enjoyable food - both breakfast and dinner and very friendly staff. Michael and David were both excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble and we felt very welcome. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and hope to visit again soon.

My husband and I travelled to Llandudno on Bank Holiday Monday and can't believe our luck at what a gem we found. The hotel is spotless and the room which we stayed in was tastefully decorated and was also very clean. The breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day walking around Llandudno.

I would defiantely return to this hotel and would advise anyone else who is planning on going to Llandudno to stay here, we think we have found an absolute gem and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.

My wife and I spent 2 nights here over the Bank Holiday weekend and I must say we were not disappointed in any way. The room was clean, comfortable, well equipped and had a great sea view. Breakfast was excellent both mornings and the evening meal we had was amongst the best!
We had a very warm welcome and will certainly be returning.

This was our second visit to the Can-y-Bae hotel. We had looked online for a different UK location to go to, (as we have much exhausted the Yorkshire Coast and Devon/Cornwall) but as we were new to the "other" places, and also because we were holidaying with my partner's mother this time round, we opted for somewhere we could trust, that was friendly, relaxing, comfortable, clean, peaceful... The list goes on...

Michael and Dave are superb hosts, and for whom nothing is too much of a trouble, whether it be a problem with your telly, or you require something not on the menu etc.

This time around we stayed in Room 15 (double), on the first floor and my partners mum stayed in room 15 (twin) on the 3rd floor. Both rooms were sea-facing and immaculate, and fitted with full mod cons that you would expect in a hotel, but with nice finishing touches. Very nice to just be able to sit in the window and watch the world go by, or the sun go down over the sea after a long day.

Each night we dined at the hotel, as it was both convenient, and also scrumptious, all home cooked food, with a choice of 3 courses for a reasonable £15.00. Michael and his staff were very pleasant and chatty, inquisitive about your day, without being intrusive, like you find at some hotels.

There is a lot to do in the local area, from tourist attractions, to bars and restaurants, and also lots of places to walk, either for the adventurous hill walker, or more of a stroll, such as we had after dinner each evening to the end of the pier (to burn off dinner!).

The hotel bar is a great place to get a pre, during, or after dinner drink, or whenever you like, and tastefully decorated with showbills and photo's of various celebrities and stage stars that have stayed at the hote, due to the hotel's close proximity to the Venue Cymru - only 5 mins walk!

We will most definately be returning to Can-y-Bae at some point, to soak up the wonderfully relaxed, peaceful and inexpensive charms that it has to offer!

Stayed 3 nights at Can y Bae with my Wife, The hospitality an cleanliness of the Hotel is second to none, Stayed in room 24, fantastic view of the sea front, Great Orme, pier ect. Room was fully equiped with iron/board trouser press, hair dyryer, coffee/tea facilities that was replenished daily, lcd t.v. telephone. The breakfast was fantastic, cereals, youghurts, fruit juice (help yourself) followed by a cooked breakfast to order, basically whatever you wanted and any combination, then toast. The food was piping hot and ample to set you up for the day. They do an evening meal at £15 pp, that looked fantastic but could not comment as we ate out the 3 nights but im sure it was good. What really impressed us was the hospitality shown from Dave and Michael (Owners) Nothing was too much trouble and they were always happy and cheerful and full of beans (despite the late nights they had staying up chatting with guests). There is a bar at the hotel which is very reasonably priced (usually hotels pump the price up) and the regalia on the walls of all the celebrities that have stayed there is a shrine for theartre goers and t.v buffs. Llandudno itself is beautiful and unspoilt, if you want nightclubs and arcades go to Blackpool, however if you want a lazy quiet relaxing time this is the place for you.
Nearly forgot...the parking is a nightmare, however if you drive round long enough you will at some point get a spot outside the hotel. Free parking from 4pm until 10am the day after then £3 for the day. I suggest that you dont move your car unless you have to..
