Me and my husband came to st Tudno for our evening meal on Tuesday 16th oct 2013 as we were staying in llandudno for our honeymoon. We have eaten here before and absolutely loved it and could not wait to come back. The food here is amazing, the presentation flawless and the service superb. You are made to feel so special, and the little touches like the amuse bouche and sorbet course to cleanse the pallet all add to the experience. The place is so romantic too, with beautiful music playing softly in the background. On this visit the owner came into the restaurant and made his way round each table introducing himself and asking us about ourselves which I thought was lovely. This is probably my favourite place for a romantic meal ever, and we will 100% be returning and would recommend it highly to all romantic couples.

Need I say more? Average bar snacks. Friendly, attentive service initially. Good view over bay. Sadly can't recommend in terms of value.

Our house wine is currently priced at £3.35 for a 125ml, £5.00 for a 175ml or £6.70 for a 250ml glass of wine. We offer a range of 6 white wines by the glass. £8.90 for a 250ml good quality Pinot Gris is actually very fairly priced for an hotel such as ours, with professional table service in very relaxed and pleasant surroundings, with beautiful views of the bay. I’m sure you can get a bog standard quality white wine at £1 or so cheaper at an ordinary bar somewhere without table service, at a stone cold temperature. Our wines are served at the correct temperature, where you can actually taste the quality of the wine coming through. We are sorry your experience was not what you expected.

After a brisk walk along Llandudno's promenade, the best place for lunch is the
St Tudno hotel which is situated almost under the Orme , across the road from the Punch and Judy show. We were warmly welcomed and the options for my gluten free husband clarified. He enjoyed fresh figs with Parma ham and gluten free bread, whilst I had a melon and fresh fruit first course, and we followed this with a delicious Anglesey roast lamb. The setting in the dining room is quite stunning with wall murals of Italy, the table setting pleasantly formal.

We arrived before 7pm, and so were able to take advantage of the "early bird menu" the choice was good, and we found the food and service to be everything we would wish. I can still remember the taste of the tomato soup, delicious! Two very happy diners, who will repeat the experience when we are in the area again.

What a shame. The stafff were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. The place was nicely done out but a little tired looking, especially the toilets by the restaurant. I cannot believe the price of the meals for the little amount of food we were served. That is the first restaurnat we have left feeling still hungry. The food had been well created and looked stunning on the huge plates but there was very little of it spread about on the plate to eat. I do not know how they have the cheek to ask such outlandish prices for so small an amount to eat. We had litterally small spoonfuls of food on comical sized plates which made it look worse. Having to wait hearly 25 minutes for our main meal after the starter didn't help either. Their wholesale food bill must be very low. The drinks were eyewateringly priced too. I do not care how many awards they have been given. Ripping customers off is no excuse. There were only 6 people in the restaurant on a high season Friday night, which says it all really. If they lowered their prices then common sense would give them a bigger income from more visitors. Cannot understand their mentality.....

Thank you for your kind comments about our staff and that our "place was nicely done out". It is really quite unusual to receive a complaint regarding the small size of portions - in fact I have just asked my deputy manager who says he cannot remember the last time we had a complaint in this direction. In fact quite to the contrary, we have a lot of guests who make the very point that they have been comfortably fed without being overfaced.

We have a strong following of guests, many of whom are local and come to our 2AA rosette awarded restaurant for a fine dining experience. Guests can choose 2/3 courses from an extensive menu with complimentary canapes offered prior to dinner as well as a comlimentary sorbet between courses. Our prices are extremely reasonable and would compare favourably with any good quality restaurant in the area. Our early evening dinner menu is £22.50 for 2 courses and £27.50 for 3 courses and our a la carte menu is approximately £35 for 3 courses. Our bar prices are carefully calculated and fair, again, comparing favourably with similar establishments in the area.

We therefore do feel your comments are somewhat unfair. This is one of the busiest summers we have had for years and the hotel has been extremely active. Guests can dine between 5.30 and 9.30 and we get a good through put during those 4 hours. If food quantity is essential then there are plenty of operations offering such.
