“Take your slippers!”
Reviewed 30 May 2012

Rooms were shabby wallpaper old and hanging off even in public areas. Carpets were grubby and stained andpaintwork was very dusty and stained with drink splashes. Toilets in public area not cleaned much dust and rubbish still behind toilet doors after three days. Waitresses could do with more training as they werent very polite and lent across people with plates etc while they were trying to eat. Food was quite nice. Got woken up two mornings and one afternoon by fire alarm as water was leaking through a ceiling from an unsealed bath staff knew about this as no fire engine called or head count done first time but it was not repaired. Staff said they just isolated alarm from room after third false alarm! Very run down wants a total revamp wont be going back!

The descriptions and events given in this review are incorrect.

Whilst we do apologise to all our guests for any inconvenience because of the alarms sounding we treat every alarm as a potential risk and follow all the correct procedures and the fire service were more than happy with our actions.

Stayed at this hotel with National Holidays with two work collegues.

When the hotel owner got on the coach, she never introduced herself, just said -'we wondered where you were!' Not a good first impression I must say!

Rooms - Clean, although the single rooms are quite small. All amenities were in good working order. Beds a little hard. But I got a good nights sleep.

Food - A choice of meals which were of OK quality. It would have been better if the vegetables where fresh rather than frozen. Ploughmans salad was half a plate of salad, half a plate of grated cheese!! No sauce/condiments. Cooked breakfast every morning, which was faultless.

Service - Said good morning to the owner a few times only to be ignored every time.
Waiting staff girls, one very ignorant, (National driver even complained about the way she spoke to him) the others were brilliant.
Cleaning staff were lovely and polite.

Drinks Vouchers - This stated 6 on the holiday website. We were allocated 5 as one of the free drinks was a glass of wine with your evening meal. I didn't used all the vouchers as the drinks on offer weren't that varied.

All in all it was a brilliant holiday. Llandundo has plenty to offer for everyone.

Driver, Martin, was fantastic. Made the holiday worthwhile. He even bought me a drink! Hes a true gentleman! Thank you :o)

Booked a two night stay with National. Hotel close to sea front and shops yet in a quiet street.Rooms spotless. Food plentifull and of good quality, free glass of wine with evening meal. staff couldnt do enough to help and always with a smile. Anyone who complains about a hotel bar that gives you five free drinks and has evening entertainment wants "jam on their chips". Excellent value for a low cost holiday.

Visited this hotel on a National Holidays 5 day trip. Llandudno should be very concerned that a hotel in their town is as poor as this one. Generally very shabby; no refinments in public area - no curtains, flowers, pictures etc etc. No comfortable lounge furniture and the bar is like a 1950 'cubby hole'. The room we were allocated also lacked any refinements - no opaque curtaining at the very large bay window. The carpet was very grubby (glad I took my slippers) and the en-suite shower room was so tiny (long & narrow) it was difficult to use the sink and also had to 'squeeze' past the sink for the WC! Not a nice room at all. Some staff were OK- cleaning girls friendly and did their jobs well. Waiting staff were very aloof and made no attempt to make guest feel comfotable. Food was very basic and choices poor. The Steak and Kidney I was served with had one piece of kidney and two pieces of steak the rest was all thick gravy and very salty too. Not only would I not receommend this hotel, I would actively discourage anyone going there.

Room Tip: Just dont go!

Just returned from Llandudno and what a hotel, happy helpful staff clean towels every day., spacious clean rooms

The idea of the vouchers is good as they can be used at any time of the day,

Having different meal times was also a good idea as then you can spend longer out and about.

Plenty to do around Llandudno, great weather (April). Plenty to see
We had awalk to the Great Orme (knackered but worth it). Also a trip to Bodnant Gardens get the number 25 bus from outside Weatherspoons takes around half an hour and you can spend all day there.

Everyone in the hotel were helpful the waitting staff were spot on with service and plenty laughs!!!! Plenty selection

A trip to Chester on the way back put the finishing touchesto the week, well done to Martin our driver.

Room Tip: room 401 top floor away from elevator and front facing

Stayed for a two-night break with National Holidays. The food was very good and waiter/waitress service was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable and the 6 free drinks vouchers went down very well! All in all, extremely good value for money and would recommend.

Room Tip: Room 307 is spacious and comfortable and has a front facing view.
