Owner description: Enjoy a fantastic FREE day out on a real working farm. We have free parking and our paths are free to walk 7 days a week. You can see our animals all year round, and explore our woodlands (you may even find a play area hidden inside them). We have a cafe, shop and pub on site so you can even taste the produce that comes from our land.

We visited the farm at the weekend with young children. Brilliant as free entry, but you do pay £3 per bag of animal feed which there are 3 types of. Lovely little farm shop on site. But agree with last post, bit disappointed with staff helpfulness. Cafe staff looked a bit glum, not welcoming. We asked at the shop where to start the 'farm trail' and were told to just go out to the car park. Couldn't find the entrance so asked again but we got the same reply and pointed to the far side of the road we'd came in on. Ended up finding the pigs but then came to a dead end and out on a main road which took us back to the entrance. Walkways need to be marked clearer esp if young children with you. Stopped at the pub for a lemonade across the road, brilliant atmosphere and friendly staff there. Unlikely to return to the farm though, which is shame as I think our experience could've been better if the staff were more interested in visitors

Having read the fantastic reviews I was really looking forward to staying here , we booked a cabin in advance for 1 night. Upon arrival the shop staff member didn't have a clue about our booking , didn't know whereabouts our cabin was and when we finally got directions the cabin was locked on arrival !! We had to trek back and get a code for the padlock so finally got into the cabin which was nice enough , was in the woods and very private . We then had lunch in cafe , ploughmans wasn't great and organic cider was a bottle of rekordelig shop bought cider!! At this point staff were all very unfriendly and seemed like they couldn't be bothered. We then went for a walk to see the annuals which was lovely , the woodland play area was a derelict area with lots of dirty slides and playhouses and haven't been kept well. Had a pleasant enough evening went to pub across road which was excellent for food. What really topped off this stay was the morning after , we woke up and strolled to cafe for breakfast , the woman that runs it saw us sitting at a table but never spoke to us and when we went in to order she said they weren't open until 9am as is the shop . The indoor play area was also locked and booked out for a private function !! Not at any point in the morning had 1 single staff member said good morning , felt the place was completely miserable so we left earlier than planned and won't be returning .

occupied one of their cabins for two ate and shopped at the farm shop, walked the walks, visited the pub over the road - all truly lovely, and they treat you like a grown up as you can have a fire and BBQ etc whilst cabinning or camping - couldn't recommend highly enough

“A unique and wonderful camping experiance”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

This is one of those reviews that is tough to write as I don't want to let the cat out the bag as to what a wonderful place this is and just keep it all to myself!
My family and I - 4 adults and 2 kids just spent the Bank Holiday weekend camping at Church Farm. Really great place and wonderful time had by all. The kids loved the freedom and being near so many animals and us adults enjoyed the tranquillity, a glass of wine and the great set up of the site. This is what I would class as 'wild camping', and to my mind the best kind – basic facilities and camp fires. This is not a campsite where you get a field packed full of tents, rather you can commander a corner and enjoy the space. Yes the toilet facilities in the campsite are basic (it’s a shed with a bench, and you 'flush' with sawdust). I would challenge anyone who doesn't like this to show me a campsite toilet on a wet (and therefore muddy) weekend that doesn't look the same. There is nothing offensive about it at all, and to be honest, an amusing bonding experience between campers who have been! There are also flushing toilets by the camp shop for those being wimpy, along with shower facilities too. There are planned activities for the kids too - the animals on the farm are beautifully cared for, and the shop and cafe are great (delicious food). The staff were really helpful and relaxed. From freezing our ice blocks, serving delicious food in the café or offering up helpful pointers. Plus the farm activities are not to be missed. Will definitely go again and hope to make it an annual trip. Highly recommended, enjoy.
