“2 nights stay”
Reviewed 3 March 2012

Stayed here with a few family members and friends who had travelled from the North for my sons passing out parade at Bassingbourn Barracks. Was a very clean and lovely hotel and the 22 pound meal deal on our 1st night was fantastic value. Really lovely and friendly staff and nothing was any trouble. Would reccomend this hotel very highly. Thankyou Premier Inn for making our special event special .

Room Tip: Even though this hotel is situated near a motorway you good not hear the traffic

Excellent stay, everything spot on, ample parking; large tidy clean room; comfortable bed; extremely polite staff; great value food and specially the £22 meal deal.

BUT a couple of niggles about the other guests.........There were several groups of workmen staying at the hotel, no problem except at the evening meal. We had got changed after a day out into casual clothes, BUT the groups of workmen seemed to come straight from their jobs into the dining room, old workclothes, often dirty and other guests have to sit on the same chairs at breakfast and evening meal. It made the dining room look somewhat like a transport cafe. We sat away from this in the bar for an evening meal, that was OK but then later the workmen left the dining room to sit in the bar. Their presence was quite loud and often the use of very crude language……..not really what you want on a away break. I accept that this is not a Premier Inn problem, but signage saying no working clothes would be appropriate. Curbing language for a waitress or one member of bar staff is difficult and probably not advisable.

Ask guests at mealtimes, particularly reps, mainly at breakfast time to turn mobile phones off. I did not want to have breakfast is some guys office arranging meetings, or listen to him phoning his wife at home. This would have been better done in the privacy of his own room. One rep ate his whole breakfast with a phone in one hand and another on the table in front of him, talking on one playing with the other. I really do not think he would have had any idea what he had eaten. They are a particularly weird breed, but I realise that they are the bread and butter of the hotel trade, and hotels cannot bite the hand that feeds them. Best advice to avoid the annoying office routine is to take breakfast later when they have all gone to join the rat race, as they do. As you can gather reps are well down the list of favourites, but at least we can all laugh at their antics later…..what a stress fee life they must lead.

Still a very good stay, 5*, and cannot really blame the hotel for the behaviour of their guests.

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting friends in Stevenage for the Spurs FA cup game weekend. Lovely hotel, in walking distance to the town centre and leisure park. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly, rooms were well priced (I've paid more to stay in bad b&b's in the past). I didn't use the bar or restaurant so can't comment on them. I would definately recommend this hotel and would definately book here if I came to the area again.

As stated in the title. My colleague and I were lucky in that we were able to gain a twin room at £19 per night for 2 nights. The Reception was efficient, friendly and welcoming. We felt like old friends returning.
The room was well equipped and spotless to the extent that we sought out the chambermaid to tell her!
We DO require more than 2 cups of tea but extra was readily available.
The bar staff were also friendly and sociable when required and the evening meal was adequately priced and of excellent quality.
Parking was very convenient and there was not traffic noise in the hotel. Highly recommended.
'The hospitality trade' - the clue's in the title and this Premier Inn came right up to the mark - they hit the spot. We shall return.

Room Tip: Just let the booking office know what you want. They are very helpful.

Just stayed the one night at the Premier Inn but couldn't fault it. Easy to find, Plenty of parking, relaxed atmosphere. Worried about traffic noise as close to A1M but no trouble at all. Breakfast staff really friendly and helpful without being overbearing and the food was lovely - we didn't need to eat again until the evening! Room was spacious and very clean. Really very good!

The accomodation was modern, cleam and bright. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They interreacted well with the younger members of our party. The breakfast was of a high standard with a wide variety of choice and very well priced. The dinner menu was very good and catered wll for family groups. Car parking was sufficient to cater for all guests staying at the hotel.
