We were really looking forward to going to Isabel's as we'd been there once before and had a lovely meal (about 5 years ago). We thought the seafood assortment looked really good so both of us ordered it. Unfortunately, the crabmeat, prawns and crayfish were all from a jar and tasted of brine and there was no lemon. Being in Poole, you'd think the seafood would be fresh. There was one oyster on the plate which was nice. The rest was bland and disappointing. I had lamb fillet for main and that was pretty good. My husband had sirloin which was full of sinew and no steak knife. The service was pretty good and the wine was reasonable. Unfortunately, there are many better restaurants nearby (Guildhall, The Cow, Les Bouviers) and Isabel's ought to catch up or they'll find their bookings going down. We had high expectations but won't be going back there as we were quite disappointed.

We went here to celebrate a special event and had heard so much about it we were quite excited. However, we were squeezed in to a table so close to others that the waitress could hardly get between us to serve food unless someone moved to let her in. The food was okay but hardly worth the expensive prices and the dessert menu was so over priced we declined out of principal rather than selection.

From what I hear from others when they know you they give you a better table and service and I can believe that as the guy who was running the show that night was a bit dismissive to us but spent a lot of time with a table of four in one of the booths.

Not a bad restaurant but not worth the price and certainly not up to the hype. Food was fair and cooked okay but i think the whole experience made the night a bit of a let down and not woth the money.

We were staying locally and were reccomended by the proprietor of the B&B we were staying in. The decor is authentic with candlelight and oldy-woldy feel to the place creating a romatic atmosphere. We were welcomed by the 'manager' who was a great character full of charm. The food was excellent and not over-priced at all, we mixed and matched over both menu's and dinner came to around 25 pounds per head. We eat in many resturants but rarely find one that offers the full package of good service, excellent food and a nice dining experience without a hefty bill to pay at the end. I would reccomend it to anyone young or old.

Isabels is, without a doubt, the finest restaurant in Poole - the food quality is always consistently excellent and the service warm and friendly.

This is the benchmark by which all other restaurants in Poole and Bournemouth are measured (and none come close)

We went as a party of four, one being veggie.

The service was exceptional from start to end. They were to adapt the menu for the veggie.

The wine menu was one of the best of I've seen and the Owner is incredibly knowledgable about wine regions, grapes etc. His knowledge of French wine was amazing.

The food was excellent and cooked to perfection,

I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially for a romantic meal as the atmosphere is wonderful.
