I stayed the night of 23 December. My room and breakfast cost £59 and I think
it would have been the same for two people sharing. Very good value indeed.
Fantastic view of waves on the harbor and securely-moored lifeboats below my
window, which did not let in a whisper of draught from the 70 mph winds raging
outside. Pleasant and practical room and bathroom, super-comfy bed.
Downstairs, I was able to shop for late Xmas presents and stocking fillers good
for all ages, attractive 'Seahorse Bay' kitchen stuff warmly welcomed by recipient.
Good dinner and wine in restaurant with all-round views, bar upstairs even better, good
coffee and service in both. Breakfast also very good. Outside are terraces by the harbour
edge, which must be lovely in summer.
Large Xmas tree in foyer was decorated with touching paper lifebelt- shaped messages
of support and appreciation for RNLI crews from the public.
I was in one of only two rooms occupied that night, but the atmosphere was warm and
welcoming and the staff very pleasant. A very enjoyable start to Christmas !More
