“40TH Anniversary meal”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

Ate here on Friday 20th June with 2 close friends to celebate our 40th wedding anniversary, been looking at the Taverna for some time and wasnt dissapointed by the meal we had. The Taverna was quiet only 7 people in so service wasnt a problem, We have been going to Greece for our holidays for 16 years having lived in Cyprus for 18 months, 3 of us had Cheese Saganaki for starter and 1 had Tzatsiki, main course 2 beef stifados and 2 lamb kleftikos, the food was as good as we have ever had in Greece washed down by Greek Mythos beer what more could one ask. Girls shared a bottle of house red total bill was around £25 per head so not too expensive. Will visit again sometime.

Been driving past this restaurant for the past year and kept meaning to visit. What have we been missing out on!! Not normally big on reviewing, however this is a fantastic little restaurant, so deserves the good review. We chose the meze to start which was adapted to our requirements as we did not like fish, at no extra expense. The dips were absolutely wonderful. For main we had the lamb shanks - meat falling off the bone and seasoned to perfection.

Lovely little traditional restaurant. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly service, will most definitely be returning soon. Thank you!

“A wonderful restaurant with food that is as lovely as we have eaten in Greece”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

The staff were attentive and friendly. We decided to pick our starters first and then decide after if we wanted to have mains, this was no problem. We choose a selection of starters, which were outstanding. The mains were absolutely delicious, with the Kleftiko lamb falling of the bone. Parking was a bit of an issue but would not put me off going again. While it was quiet, as we were midweek, I can tell that weekends would have an excellent buzz, however if you are expecting belly dancers this isn't the place for you!!

“A Pleasant Enough Evening Meal”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

Read through a number of reviews on this restaurant before deciding to go. I have to say, visions of Greek Islands swam before my eyes but I also noticed a number of reviews saying how quiet it all was. Well, Greece came over in the décor and background music, even the somewhat hard chairs but that was it. Never mind, we and the few other dinners were there for the food which I have to say was good, (not exceptional) but very nicely put together and at a fair price. Although professionally pleasant, the young man in charge came over as a little defensive and I feel sure sensitive to any criticism. However, finding a way to blank off the view through the window would be preferable to watching the traffic go past and the launderette opposite. Similarly, an improvement to the Calor heating wouldn’t go amiss.

The food 65% out of 75%, the rest 12% out of 25%

“This Was Greece”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

My wife and myself had booked a few days break in Dorset so I got online to book eating
houses.Looking for greek tavernas I found Stefanos Taverna with excellent reviews and booked it.
What a fantastic choice this was with a warm welcome from Stefanos it was like being in greece, greek music, greek decor, greek family.Stefanos was making sure the wine was to our liking by having a tasting first. The food was out of this world, cooked to perfection and my wife being a vegitarian had no problem finding a meal to enjoy. There was a nice no rush space between courses so you dont feel you have to eat quickly and puds which were truly greek with home made BAKLAVA and greek yogurt, walnuts and honey being our choices followed by greek coffee. What a great evening this was so if you dont want to go to Greece go to Stefanos Taverna.
