have been visiting compton acres for years and the cafe was always a place i looked forward to ending up at. the last few visits have been awful. the food in the cafe is terrible. we had crab sandwiches with all brown meat and all the shell. when we complained the staff just looked stunned. not bringing my friends back to the cafe

Gasping for a hot drink and a light mid-day meal, my wife and I stopped at Compton Acres in Poole, recently. We had a great cup of tea, but sadly the food we ordered never arrived. We waited over 45 minutes before challenging the staff, only to discover no attempt had been made to prepare our food at all - strange - would have thought the one thing a cafe would do is serve food after having taken money for it. Wasn't impressed with the staff wandering about with piles of dirty dishes through the eating areas. Finally - far too hot.

We have visited here a few times and whilst the coffee and cakes (when you eventually get served) are good they are expensive. The cafe itself has little alcoves so you can get away from big open areas and the shop staff are excellent. Have not visited the gardens yet.

interested but small gardens, slightly expensive for what there is, but we are glad we visited. sad memorial to previous owners son who was killed in 1942 serving with the RAF, aged just 20.

Divided into a number of themes, it is worth spending a day here if you are interested in gardens. The Gardeners are conscientious and so the place is well maintained. I loved the oriental garden, a real place to relax and contemplate. Please support them.
