10 acres of beautiful gardens with a restaurant and garden centre.
Beautiful location with lots of mature examples of specimen plants and trees,my favourite was the Japanese garden with a plethora of original artefacts. There are plans to add to the sculpture trail.
Wheelchair paths adds to its suitability for all ages and abilities.
Lunch was of high quality with the most glorious quiche and salad.
The garden centre is well stocked and Ian (head of plants) can give good advice as to what will flourish in your garden.

Visited this time of year to see the Azaleas and Rhododendrons which are stunning especially around the Japanese gardens But all the gardens were lovely especially the Italian garden Very peaceful and although compact are so well thought out that you could spend as much time as you wanted enjoying different settings it shows that a lot of care is taken Just make sure you have your camera when you visit I think this is one of the nicest places to visit

Yes the sun shone but this beautiful oasis of shrubs, trees and flowers set in many diverse forms was just stunning. Yes and it's only May!
Ponds, sculptures, steps and bridges all help to add to the shadows and perfumes coming from the flowers, the sensory experiences are stunning.

We visited on a rainy day, but still the gardens are beautiful. Lovely to wander around, plenty to look at. The café looked very nice, and busy, but we didn't stop.

Having been to Compton Acres many years ago and thought it run down I was pleasantly surprised when we visited at the end of April. The colours in the Japanese garden were vibrant and the Italian garden more formal. The café part way round opened at 11.00 and during fine weather a lovely view of Poole Harbour in the distance. I felt that the entrance cost was extremely reasonable considering the number of years the gardens have been open. It was a perfect way to spend a couple of hours wandering around, and should you so wish you can wander around as many times as you like
