Back in May 2014 I was 6 months pregnant and my friend was 5 months pregnant. We met up for a bite to eat and decided to go to the bakers arms for a 'light lunch'.
We were greeted at the door by a gentleman who gave us a table. We decided to quickly pop to the loo before we ordered as I'm sure way women can relate to the frequent need to use the bathroom.
After that we sat down and started to browse the menu. There was lots of hot foods but only a few items of cold lunch items, for example sandwich or salad and the few items which were on the menu had ingredients in which you are advised not to eat as a pregnant woman. Me and my friend decided to go to a different place where we could get what we wanted.
We returned our menus and explained the situation and apologised. The waitor who we spoke to rudley made a comment and loudly demanded that we made a donation for using the restroom which caused many people to look over and start looking at the commotion. Me and my friend embarrassingly opened our purses and emptied our change for him.

I was very upset and embarrassed by my experience here and will deffinetly be telling my friends and family to stay clear! A limited menu would have been understanding but to be humiliated infront of other customers and demanded money is not what I expect when visiting a local restaurant!

We walked in and was made so welcome,we were taken to a table and ordered our drinks, they did not rush you to order your food. We ordered our food and it arrived very quickly, it was so lovely and fresh. We had the Gammon the best Gammon i have tasted in a long time. When we are in Poole again we will go back. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Despite living locally we hadn't been to this pub before and we were really pleased with the good quality food and friendly service we received today. There was plenty of shady seating in the garden at the back of the pub which although it was close to the busy main road, it was still secure and safe for children. The menu was varied and offered all the usual 'pub grub' options but in this case they were freshly cooked and the burgers and sandwiches were all really tasty and worth the money. You never quite know what you're going to get with pub chains but in this one the staff were friendly and helpful to make changes on the kids menu and it was a lovely relaxed family lunch!
