“warm welcome”
Reviewed 21 November 2013

we stayed here overnight on 18th November after attending a funeral in Poole. we had dreadful colds and were weary after a long day. the welcome at reception continued when we asked for a bite to eat in our room as we were too zonked to go down to the restaurant. the room, a family room I think was spacious and well equipped and all was clean and tidy and warm on a very cold night. breakfast was excellent, again served by friendly staff. must be one of the best 3 star hotels around.

Room Tip: room no 2 on first floor

3 minutes from the main shopping area. Large room, decor could do with updating. Large car park with easy access. Very helpful staff. The best cooked breakfast we have had this year. The Saturday evening was busy with a function but this did not disturb us or lessen the availability of staff.

I booked into this hotel for 2 nites, the room was very small & rather dated. The bed was uncomfortable & looked like.it had been made by Stevie Wonder!! On the 1st morning I got up & decided to have a bath, the water was at best luke warm, I went to make a pot of tea only to find the dregs from whoever had used the teapot before!! I complained to reception and was told they had 'technical issues that required a plumber' I was given no excuse for the dirty teapot. The breakfast was good though. On the 2nd morning I found the same 'technical issues that required a plumber' or no hot water for a bath!! So had to have another luke warm shower. I went for breakfast only to find you don't get a full selection for breakfast on a Sunday!! I complained to reception again & was told they only offer a pre cooked buffet style breakfast on Sundays... This 'Hotel' is a joke that's run by clowns!! I will NEVER stay here again & I certainly would be far too embarrassed to recommend it to anyone even my worst enemy.

Another last minute booking - we paid £140 four four of us in a huge family room for B&B. Its a 3 star hotel and it isn't fancy in any way. We were encouraged to have a drink in the small bar in the evening ( which stays open until the last person leaves) and full English breakfast was excellent.

Booked 3 rooms for a family wedding. Good location and lovely staff, the rooms are a bit tired and could do with freshening up. Bathroom in our room was very tired. Having said this, it would not stop me booking again
