“Bad Customer Service - then stay here”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

I booked a room for a romantic evening. It was ruined by a substandard room, rude receptionist and an even ruder Manager. Methinks it is because we are both in our 20's - we were offered a £20 refund after the whole experience had been ruined. I believe they are in a chain of three so avoid these at all cost if good customer service is your preference. I did write to the MD but they didn't even acknowledge my letter after three weeks

Room Tip: Don't stay here if you enjoy good customer service and a Manager that will help you

What brilliant value and luxury. A hotel with cosy well appointed rooms.
Food to die for with friendly attentive staff. The week before our break, my wife broke her arm in two places. The first night we decided to treat ourselves to a whole crab meal not realising the difficulty of eating this with one arm. The waiter spoke to the chef who kindly dressed the crab and my wife fully enjoyed the delicious meal. What great service!
Had a very relaxed, enjoyable time, hope to return again.

Room Tip: Have a room with a harbour view, lots to see whatever the weather.

Could not fault this hotel. The room was very large and modern, everything you need in here including quality biscuits with tea... It's the little things that matter. We stayed here for valentines night. Had a 3 course meal which was the best food I have ever eaten in my life! The staff were there if required but to be honest every detail was catered for so you didn't really need them. Could not fault our stay at all, and believe me I usually do find fault.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with balcony overlooking the bay.

My boyfriend treated me to the three course Valentines meal set for Valentines Day evening at the Harbour Heights Hotel & I must say I was very impressed. After a very warm welcome from the receptionist who gladly offered to remove our coats and keep them safe until we were finished, we entered the lounge/bar area where we were also greeted by the hotel manager who personally saw that our first drinks were on their way. After a moment of hard decision making (due to a variety of mouth watering dishes to choose from) we were then escorted to our table which set the mood entirely for the rest of the night, the gorgeous view of the harbour & Brownsea Island was absolutely stunning & created such a relaxed atmosphere. After a gorgeously fufilling dinner we decided to spend a "spur of the moment" night at the hotel, the hotel manager was very understanding of this & immediately saw that a room was set up for us, placing a rose on the bedside table, an excellent towel display of two swans kissing on the end of the bed & a selection of homemade after dinner chocolates placed on the table, i must say I was very impressed with how romantic everything was. The rooms were very spaced apart so there was no disturbances or loud noises heard which made the nights sleep even more relaxing. The room we were lucky to recieve was rather spacious with a coffee table, two armchairs, a flat screen TV & a supersoft king size bed. We also had an ensuite bathroom which included a whirlpool bath that the boyfriend absolutely adored & wouldn't stop complimenting :) In the morning we were lucky enough to have breakfast included with the room which we were so glad we got up for because it was fantastic, another hard decision was made when I finally chose the smoked haddock with poached egg, I'd never had something so extravagant for breakfast but I must say this was delightful. There was also a wide selection of light bites, cereals and juices at their buffet counter which myself & my boyfriend made the most of. After breakfast we then checked out where the receptionist returned our coats. Overall we were very impressed by the hotel and the excellent service provided throughout our stay, I can't wait to stay here again hopefully sometime soon.

Room Tip: Make sure to go that extra mile & get breakfast with your room as it really is delicious.

Went for a cream tea last Thursday afternoon with two friends and sat in the lounge on very comfy chairs overlooking the terrace and the harbour. The view was amazing, we were able to watch the sunset over Brownsea Island. The waiter Adam was very polite, helpful and unobtrusive.
The cream tea was served on a stylish rectangular plate with two large warm scones. One plain one fruit. We were only given a small jar of what I call 'hotel breakfast jam' that wasn't really enough to adequately cover the 4 scone halves. A lovely big scoop of thick double cream... not clotted cream. I felt rather over priced for £8.50.... but the fabulous sunset and the view more than compensated for the price.

Stayed in the hotel overnight as a birthday treat. Late arriving and the restaurant was fully booked, however the menu was not for me. We had room service instead, the menu was more appealing to us. Do you tip for room service? Room very comfortable and it was nice to be in charge of the temperature. Breakfast was plentiful and nice, staff very good. Can we call it a complaint if we say we couldn't find a paper napkin to carry the remainder of our petit fours home with us!!

Room Tip: If requesting a balcony then ask about the size as we wouldn't have been able to fit a chair on...
