I stayed at this hotel with my partner to celebrate a birthday arriving at 3pm on the 29th April. We were allocated room 206 by the reception staff who could not have been more helpful or welcoming. The room was spotless and enjoyed a stunning view of the harbour with balcony table and chairs. The bathroom had a hydro bath with shower above and a limited supply of soap, gels etc. There was a very effective heated towel rail which if anything made the bathroom a little too warm. Staff throughout the hotel were polite, courteous and efficient. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was delightful with views of the harbour and a glorious sunset. Breakfast was served at the table with a good choice from the menu. Coffee or tea was brought to the table with toast and promptly replenished if requested. There are 2 sister hotels in the locality which have their own charm but probably better suited to families than the Harbour Heights. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to enjoying another stay.

From reception to departure this hotel was excellent. My room was good with really nice views of the harbour, the food was very good, there is a decent selection of wine by the glass, the staff are very helpful and freindly. I recommend this hotel to business travellers, it is a little more expensive than others but you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Rooms with a Harbour view are well worth seeking

During April a friend and I went to lunch at the hotel and as it was a really nice day we sat outside. The views over Poole Harbour were spectacular and it was a nice area to eat in although mobile phones were going off around us.
We ordered wine to start with and it took ages to turn up and only did so after we went to the bar to complain. The waitress's were then over attentive and different ones kept asking us the same questions. However, the food was excellent and worth paying the premium for the surroundings.

My husband took me to this hotel for a two night break in March 2013 to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful time and could not fault a thing! The room was spacious, clean and very well equipped with a large bathroom. We had a balcony which overlooked the wonderful Poole harbour and Brownsea Island and the weather was kind to us so we really appreciated the views. The staff were friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly recommend this hotel and we will be returning again sometime hopefully soon!!

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony which was definitely worth the extra money!

We had a room, (207), with sea-view and balcony overlooking Poole and Sandbanks. A wonderful view and worth every penny. Room was excellent as were the staff. Bathroom was gurt lush, especially the spa bath. Car parking was a bit tight but we always managed to get in.

The full English breakfasts were pretty good. There were plenty of other choices, served by helpful staff. The only down side was the smoked haddock which seemed to have little taste to it, but we both had recently had colds and chest infections so taste might have been our problem. The chef may need to learn to toast the bread for slightly longer but other than that nothing was too much of a problem for them.

Why only 'very good' and not 'excellent'? Well, excellence is hard to come by but this was very good, which at £220 per night, was what we were expecting.

We would return for another treat in the future.

Room Tip: If you can afford it then go for the sea views.

Went for a Groupon weekend. Everything about the booking was fine. Very nice hotel and nice room although inland facing - we were offered an upgrade to a sea view room when I requested it but didn't want to pay a further £45.00 per night. Nowhere to eat in the evening within walking distance that we could find so had to take a taxi into Poole - £11.00. Had dinner in the Thai restaurant in Poole on Friday night and Karma in Poole on Saturday night - both very very good. Mentioned to reception that the fish tank in the restaurant was very dirty - poor fish! The very nice lady there said she would mention it to someone as there is a guy that comes in to look after it - not very well in my opinion. One other very very small niggle - the toiletries were horrible and very few of them - which is not a bad thing since they were not nice. We have stayed in hotels for the past three weekends (we are spoiling ourselves) and have I have taken the toiletries when leaving - but definitely not these ones - they are yuk!

I recently visited this hotel for afternoon tea with a group of girlfriends. We too had a Groupon deal and thought it was wonderful value for money. Each pair had two rounds of sandwiches, two scones and three other cakes each, together with a glass of champagne and pot of tea. there was more than enough for the 8 of us one of whom had a gluten free plate of goodies which was amazing. The staff were friendly and very helpful, we certainly weren't made to feel like second class citizens like previous reviewers have. I could not recommend this hotel enough.
