Lovely hotel in an enviable position of the peninsula of sandbanks. Good food ,friendly staff.
Some of the television are problematic but I understand they are upgrading.
Restaurant staff very attentive as are reception.

Arrived about 10.30pm & Reception were very courteous & helpful.
Our standard room was very disappointing and the decor was tired, plus
1. On arrival, our television needed re-setting , which a member of staff, who came up immediately, took at least 15 minutes to rectify - surely, when the room is serviced, this should have been checked, before new guests arrive!
2. The bed collapsed when my husband sat on the corner of it! One of the legs actually came off.
3. On neither the Monday or Tuesday morning did we receive the paper we had ordered, even though we had reported this to Reception on the Monday!
4. On neither the Monday or Tuesday morning did we receive our 'wake-up' call, which we had requested, when booking in, even though we had reported this to Reception on the Monday!
5. Bedroom walls were very thin & on both nights we were kept awake by noisy neighbours.
6. The bedroom carpet had stains all over it.
7. The bed was uncomfortable, as the mattress was very soft and appeared to be past it's best & judging by how easily the bed leg broke off, when my husband sat on it, somewhat proves my point.
8. Dressing gowns would have been appreciated as we were booked in for treatments in the spa, from past experience of 4 star hotels (with spas) this is normally standard.

The hotel catering rules are pedantic, with regards to where you have to sit to be served food at given times.

The breakfast buffet was good but the carpet was very sticky and stained in some areas & needed a clean. The tables were also in need of refurbishment.

The spa, outside pool & treatments were lovely however, due to a child having a toilet accident, the inside jacuzzi pools were all cordoned off for the entire afternoon on the monday, which was very disappointing.

The location, views and beach access were great.

We stayed in the de-luxe suite with balconies on both sides, wonderful views and lovely room. The management need to look to their laurels,as they appear to be absent.
The staff work very hard and the restaurant runs very well. However we noticed a number of occassions when leadership was missing. When we arrived we were told rooms weren't ready and to sit in the lounge for half an hour.I think staff should have come and told us when the rooms were available as we were all waiting and rooms would free up one at a time.
On one sunny day there were plenty of staff free in the bar,but no one approached customers on a crowded terrace outside.A duty manager should have spotted this.
All in all we were very satisfied with our stay however and hope tp return.

Room Tip: get a balcony & enjoy the view

All in all, a very good Hotel with excellent food and views of the Bay/Harbour. Especially pre sunset when the light holds a mystical quality that is very calming......
However, you need to be calmed after the appalling way that you are treated by Hotel Reception staff. Our well behaved party had to contend with being taken to the wrong room, being given keys that didn't work and then being told that it was our fault, Then the next day, wrong directions were given for a cash machine that is 10 minutes away and then some members of the party were refused access to a room, even though it was ready. But above all, on several occassions, members of our party were blatantly ignored whilst the staff chatted amongst themselves. Everything was trouble for the Reception staff and then to cap it all every bill was wrong for all 24 of us when we all checked out.
This is teh first negative review that I have ever posted but my best advice is to come here for a very pleasant drink and great food but stay somewhere else, if you can.

Room Tip: Find somebody helpful in the Reception - Good Luck.
