My husband and I stayed at the Haven Hotel, Sandbanks from Sunday 9th- Tuesday 11th March.
We had a lovely stay, and had glorious weather, we did not think
we would be in the outside pool in March! so this was an added bonus.

The hotel was very comfortable and the food was delicious, we were made to feel quite special
and this was due to the wonderful staff at the Hotel. They were all so courteous, and I would have no problem in recommending your Hotel.

We will definitely be back for a further visit.

We recently stayed at The Haven Hotel for a short 3 -day break. The hotel is in a wonderful location on Sandbanks by the chain ferry between Sandbanks and Swanage. The staff are kind and very helpful and Matthew, who took our cases to the room, refused a tip saying "it was all part of their service". Our 3rd floor room was very comfortable with a great view of Swanage and the ferry, but the bathroom could do with some updating. We thought the food for the evening meal was very good with plenty of choice and friendly service. Breakfasts were excellent, although the choice of bread was poor. However, nice croissants were available.

There is a great spa with indoor whirlpools and an outdoor heated pool and Jacuzzi. We were able to swim outside in March which was very unexpected. Great terrace to sit and have drinks overlooking the water. The spa can only be reached by walking through the dining room, so you need a robe, which the hotel will provide, and the changing rooms need a makeover. We were told this is happening after Easter.

We booked a promotional break, which we thought was excellent value. We would stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Great views from the 3rd floor sea view rooms

We stayed here for one night and booked a standard room, we had a lovely sea view from a nice little balcony. The spa area was lovely as were the massages. Booked a table in the restaurant in the evening, the food was really good. There is a nice outside terrace to have a drink that overlooks the sea and beach, breakfast was also good with plenty of choice.

We stayed here in January with a Groupon voucher given as a Christmas present.

Our room was newly refurbished, on the top floor and was, spacious, airy and with some nice touches. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom well equipped.
Although refurbished the sound proofing wasn't great and at multiple times (not late at night) we could hear our neighbours.

The quality of the food was good and the pricing of the bar menu was reasonable. We chose not to eat in the main restaurant as the menu didn't take our fancy. The hotel should consider having more seating for bar food as it was rammed whilst we were there.

The highlight for us were the leisure facilities, a great outdoor pool and hot tub was complemented by a small pool sized Jacuzzi. We spent the majority of the evening using this area.

Breakfast was great, we were seated in the 'overflow' section which was right on the seat front. Great views with great quality and varied food.

We then enjoyed the rest of the morning walking off breakfast with a walk a long the beach.

My wife and I took advantage of a Groupon deal for 2 nights at the Haven hotel and have just returned. We were extremely lucky with the weather, very warm for mid March.
The hotel scored maximum points for the location. What a place. Right at the mouth of pool harbour, overlooking the sea and then Studland ferry. The building had an art-deco feel about it. After an efficient check in process, we went to our room which was large and had a large bathroom. Our room was clean but a bit tired. In particular the ceiling consisted of polystyrene tiles which felt a bit like an office meeting room. Also, there was quite a bit of water damage to the ceiling in the bathroom. Saying all that, the room had all the facilities you would expect at a 4 star hotels, tea and coffee facilities, iron and ironing board, hair dryer etc.

The doors to the rooms are self-closing but the last foot of the closure was performed at just close to the speed of sound and the doors closed with an enormous bang - very annoying.

If the bedrooms were tired, It would be fair to say that the public spaces were pretty good, from the foyer, to the bar, to restaurant. Some of the infra-structure, like the lifts, again were tired and could do with 'sprucing' up - carpeted walls is so 70's.

Ah yes, the restaurant - we were disappointed that both nights the restaurant was full. The hotel has over 80 bedrooms yet I think that the restaurant probably had 40/50 covers. It seemed to me that there was plenty of space to have more tables, in particular the breakfast restaurant was not used. Saying that the hotel was very busy wasn't really an excuse. It really is quite a captive audience.

Quite a few couples resorted to eating in the bar. Perhaps that was their plan but the menu in the bar is quite restrictive and did not have much choice.

The breakfast was very good - a buffet that you weren't restricted to what you could have and there was plenty to choose from. Sitting there, enjoying a nice breakfast overlooking the sea was bliss.

The staff were excellent, very keen and happy to help. A certain member of staff had personal hygiene issues which really shouldn't be the case in a hotel of this standing.

Prices were quite expensive - thank goodness that we took advantage of the deal as a pint of lager was £4.50 - A sandwich in the bar - £9.

I feel like that I am giving a very negative review but that really isn't fair - the location is brilliant, the staff very friendly and helpful and if you have the weather as we did, it was lovely and we would go back.

I just think that it could be so much more...

Room Tip: Go for a room with a sea view - our room was over-looking the car-park - not so good!

Very friendly reception staff , easy check in . Room overlooking the The Stud-land ferry and lovely views beyond . Room comfy if a bit small and the bathroom very small , small balcony attached which you could sit out on , however for one night it was fine, any longer visit and we would of found it very cramped !!!! Robes in the room would of been a nice touch ! Breakfast was self-service and it was very nice . Would stay again but probably ask for a larger room .

I should say we only went here because of a very attractive Amazon offer. The hotel has a fantastic location yet it so needs modernization and a darn good clean. As they have knocked down and rebuilt so much of Sandbanks why not do the same with this Hotel?
The service tried hard but the layout just doesn't inspire .the long linear carpet -less restaurant can leave you feeling you are eating in a station waiting room or something.and there are lots of rails to obscure what could be a superb view.
We were in a sea view room, again a lovely location.a big room but little or no character and minimally decorated. There is no walk in shower ,not much good for elderly people as they only have in- bath ones. And you cannot get under the shower if you are taller than 5 ft 6.The shampoos etc were not replaced or refilled, not good enough for a four star place.Beds are very bouncy but we did sleep OK.generally the furniture is tired and there is grime in parts- look along the door sill on the main lift.
Breakfast was good.
This place should be a diamond.
Please FJB do something to make it sparkle .

Room Tip: Get as far away from the cleaners rooms and fire doors ,towards The Bournemouth end of the hotel.se...
