We booked our friend over from the States into the Haven on the 13th May, he said it was lovely, room was clean, service was good and view was amazing. We joined him for a meal on the Thursday, the meal was fantastic, services was good but I think they were short staffed ! The bar area and lounges were clean and well decorated, we will be returning, and recommend a visit .

We chose this hotel for a relaxing weekend break. Check in was efficient and welcoming. The room
was very clean with a modern en suite. On the down side the bedroom was in need of refurbishment. The soft furnishings were a mix of differing patterns and colours. The furniture was tired, with some of the veneer worn away. The evening meal menu was restricted, with only one main meat dish. On the first night it was chicken drumsticks. On the second night shoulder of lamb. Both are cheap cuts of meat to be offering clients of a 4 star hotel. Not surprisingly we ate out on day 2.
Breakfast was a completely different experience. Plenty of choice of cereals, juices, and hot buffet.
All of the staff we met were efficient and friendly, and obviously took a pride in their work.

I have never written a negative review but feel i have to in this instance. I would, however, like to start with the positives...the view. That is it.

When we arrived at the hotel we were given our key and sent to our room. As soon as we got into the room i noted how tired it looked, however, on further inspection, i found that it was dirty. The sheets had stains on them, as did the pillows. The chair was stained, there was a brown stain in the toilet and marks up the walls beside the bed.

Given the £149 price, i was not happy with this so called reception using the phone in the room. I tried calling reception for over 15 minutes with no answer so decided to call using my own mobile and got straight through. After explaining the issues to an extremely uninterested member of staff, i was offered an alternative room. I was hoping for an improved room, however, this was not offered. Nonetheless, as i was attending a wedding that day and was running out of time to get ready, i had no choice but to accept. This room was extremely small and cramped, the paint was peeling off the walls and the very small balcony was covered in mould. At this point i thought things couldn't get any worse, however, when i went to bed i soon realised i was in for a terrible nights sleep as the bed was the most uncomfortable bed i have ever slept in, i could feel every spring.

After this experience i did email and express my disappointment to the management, who offered me a 50% refund. However, i still do not believe the room i stayed in was worth of a £74 price tag!

The manager did note in his emails to me that the toilet was broken and would be repaired or replaced and the bed in the second room was also in need of replacement. However it is interesting to note that he stated in his response to me "your comments do give strength to the viewpoint that we should perhaps be increasing our room rates now in order to finance further upgrades". Therefore, if you are thinking of staying here, please be warned you may find yourself paying a premium for a dirty and unsuitable room!!

Room Tip: Avoid room 103 at all costs!!!

We have stayed twice at the Haven Hotel, by the Sandbanks ferry. And what an amazing place it is to stay! It is in a beautiful location, across the water from Studland. Every room seems to have either a view of Poole Harbour or a sea view. The spa facilities are excellent: an inside spa pool, sauna, steam room; an outside, good-sized pool and jacuzzi overlooking the sea! Magical in the evening. The rooms are always clean; we have never found it noisy; Breakfast is delicious and you can eat it right by a window just metres from the sea. We had a complimentary dinner one night; very nice, but not exactly filling!
Parking is free if you register your car. We took our bikes and enjoyed cycling along the promenade to Bournemouth, round the harbour to Poole or across the ferry to Studland.
We love this hotel - it is a real escape from our busy lives, a haven in every sense and we can't wait to go there again!

Room Tip: The harbour view rooms mean you get a bit of noise from the Sandbanks ferry, which starts fairly ear...

I stayed here with my husband for one week prior to the Easter Weekend and I can honestly say it is one of the loveliest experiences I have had. The service was amazing and the food was fantastic. We had a lovely room with an enclosed balcony over-looking the sea. The whole place was calm and relaxing and we loved every minute of it. Will definitely be back.

Room Tip: It is most definitely worth having an enclosed balcony looking over the sea. Waking up to that view...

This hotel offers you a slice of traditional English service in a unique setting. Based in Sandbanks right next to the little shuttle ferry that takes you over to the Isle of Purbeck. You can just sit on the lovely verandah taking in the view of Poole Harbour or sit on their own little beach, either way you enjoy the scenery. The spa is lovely and the breakfast was very good. Try and get a room facing the sea, you might not want to come off your balcony!

Room Tip: Get a room facing the sea
