I had a two night stay at Sandbanks and was really pleased by the standard of this hotel, especially after reading lots of negative comments on this site about this hotel. The room was super, wonderful view, comfortable bed, super clean bathroom.
I found all staff I encountered to be helpful, professional and polite at all times Would definately stay again

We stayed at the Sandbanks on a two night short break. Choice of food for the evening meal was very good. Our room was on the third floor with views over the Harbour. Watched the kite boarders and wind surfers. The standard of the room was very pleasant. The only down side was the shower, personally we prefer a higher powered shower, this was our only complaint. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay. The spa/swimming pool was in available due to technical difficulties.

We had a lovely two night break over half term. Sandbanks hotel was a perfect location, with lovely local amenities as well as great facilities at the hotel. The funsters were wonderful at entertaining our children (7 and 4 yrs), and the view and sound of the sea directly on the beach was very special. It was worth paying slightly more for a seafront room. Overall we had a lovely time and will be going back soon.

Room Tip: Sea front rooms are lovely, the harbour view overlooks the car park, but is cheaper.

We arrived for our two night break, having selected a hotel with leisure facilities to find a note on the door stating this facility was closed. On enquiring if the leisure facility would be open the next day the receptionist could not tell me, but it remained closed for the length of our stay. The staff were friendly and the food was well cooked and nicely served but to get a cointreau coffee after the evening meal proved insurmountable of both nights. The hotel enjoyed a splendid position for families wishing to enjoy the beach in the warmer weather and we would go again hoping the leisure facilities would be open.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to enjoy good views and seemed well appointed. I have used the only comment the sy...

I stayed in a single room for 5 nights on business during the off peak season. The room was a bit dingy and the bed uncomfortable. It's one thing for a night or two, but wasn't pleasant for that long. There was a decent view of the parking lot, which is private. I was given a parking ticket midstay for a 2 hour period between my coming back from work and going out again to the shops. I didn't discover this until my rental car company forwarded the charge on along with their administration fee. Getting the charges revoked and my card repaid took quite a few phone calls and emails. While the hotel staff who knew how to handle the situation were nice about it, it's still irritating to have to deal with.

The restaurant bar I only attempted for my first evening. The prices were too steep to justify doing it any more. Breakfast was average for a buffet in a hotel.
The views from the breakfast rooms were worth it.

If I did return, I would see if they had better rooms than the one I had. Perhaps they cater mostly to couples and groups.

A good quality 4 star hotel, with all the facilities you would expect. Restaurant has lovey views of the sea. However, their 3 star hotel in Boscombe (the Chine) is just as good in my opinion and slightly cheaper!

The location of the hotel is fantastic and the views are spectacular, also the food is quite nice!

Bad points- rooms are of very low standard, miss-matched old furniture, bunk beds and just generally shabby! Car park is not big enough to accommodate all guest (took us 1hr to find parking) and service is poor, prosecco served warm, food took a long time to arrive and one particular waitress was quite rude!
