We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the staff were friendly and attentive, especially the day time reception staff, but special mention has to go to Joseph and his restaurant staff. Nothing too much trouble. Also Catherine, her efficiency and attention to detail while helping to organise our 'Ladies Weekend' was faultless. Even helping to find an extra room when unexpected family members decided to attend.
Very important too - the Chef. The food was delicious. Every meal we had over the three nights was excellent. Thank you very much. We will return!

Room Tip: All rooms good. Didn't hear one complaint from our party.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and have always been pleased with my room. I was disappointed therefore when shown to our room on arrival- although it had a sea view as promised, the room was small, dated and slightly shabby. We had booked through a Travelzoo deal and were only staying for one night so perhaps that's why we were given a poor room. (Not wise as even people on deals write reviews!)

I asked at Reception if there was another room available and from then on our stay was really great. We were offered a choice of two rooms , and we're happy to accept . The Receptionist was very polite and friendly and changed our room details without any fuss. Our new room was delightful: large and bright and very modern. Everything was spotlessly clean.

We ate in the restaurant as part of our deal and enjoyed everything. The food was well cooked and well presented and the waiter service was outstanding.

The restaurant at breakfast time was very busy-start of Half term- but everything was well organised, tidy and efficient. There was a good selection of hot and cold food and everything seemed freshly cooked.

All in all a lovely hotel with superb staff.........just a pity we had to ask to change rooms.

Room Tip: Read the above !

In contrast to some of the poor reviews of this hotel - which made me a little nervous, to be honest - I found it delightful, friendly and charming. Food and service are both top-notch. Some people find the rooms a bit 'dated'. That may be true if you only like 'boutique', over-decorated and utterly stifling establishments. Sandbanks Hotel is certain not in this category, but is clean, well-decorated and comfortable. This is a family-friendly seaside hotel and is exactly what you want from this kind of establishment. It is the kind of place that I used to go to with my parents when I was (quite a bit) younger. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Room Tip: Go for the sea view with balcony. It's definitely worth the extra cost.

My wife and I decided on a weekend away over valentines. We were warmly greeted on reception and were given room 204. The room was huge..... (2 rooms have been knocked into 1) I was told that the room has recently been refurbished. side sea view was adequate, with the most stunning view of the sea. We decided on taking advantage and using the Haven's leisure facilities which is part of the hotels chain (5 min drive) where we swam in the open air pool, outside jucuzzi and indoor pool and steam/sauna rooms. These were good to use, however could have used the Sandbanks facilities, but the Haven has more. Towels were given when we arrived. You need a £1 for the locker. Back to the Sandbanks.... The hotel was spotless and clean all the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar prices were reasonable £7.50 for two G&T's we decided to eat out in the evening rather than eat at the hotel, so many places around Poole, Bournemouth, Ashley Cross, however there is hardly anywhere in the Sandbanks to eat or drink. We got a 5 min taxi into Ashley Cross and ate in a good Chinese (cant nb the name!!) When we arrived back to the hotel they had laid on BINGO for the residents in the bar area.
Breakfast was super, they had everything you could think of and plenty of it!!! delicious English Breakfast, Continental you name it and lots of staff to offer tea and coffee. Tucking into our brekkie on a gorgeous sunny day with a sea view backdrop was simply perfect!! Restaurant manager was very attentive, you could tell their was a lot of repeat business in the restaurant and the man in charge was charming to all. Had a nice stroll along the peninsula after and went into the arcades along Bournemouth Pier. All in all had a relaxing break and definitely will go back with the nipper. They also run a kids club in the Summer. Lots to do and see around Sandbanks and loads of places to eat out for all budgets. Worth a visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a seaview. (and a refurbished double room 204)!!!

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights as part of a ladies weekend. There were 60 people in our group and all commented how lovely their stay was. Excellent breakfast and meals, Joseph and his team looked after us exceptionally well. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will be looking to book up again next year. Thanks!!

Don't let the tired, dated exterior put you off, inside the main areas of interest: reception, bar, lounge, restaurant and rooms are all very modern and clean. Room was excellent - good size and facilities (although separate digital tv box and remote a little cumbersome). Reception staff a little indifferent but all the rest very friendly. A good choice for this part of the country.

We arrived at The Sandbanks Hotel to a very warm, efficient welcome from the reception team. We had purchased a Wowcher voucher and were a little apprehensive to see if it did prove to be good value. We need not have worried. We were given a super room on the third floor which was large and had a balcony overlooking the Poole harbour side. The lounges in the hotel are very modern and comfortable. There was a good selection for breakfast and we cannot comment on dinner as we were on a bed and breakfast rate. The staff all seemed to be hardworking and cheerful. The following day we went to the Haven hotel which is also part of the group and used their swimming pool and hot tub. Amazingly, the sun came out and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub outside. The steam room and sauna were also very good. The young lady in reception at the Spa was very kind and welcoming. After posting a review sometime ago and receiving a very negative response from the owner I vowed never to place any more reviews. However, the Sandbanks Hotel and staff deserve a good review.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor but as mentioned by other guests the lift only goes to the second floor...
