Sayed for 2 nights October 2012 - Restaurant and bar was packed on both nights. Ate in the restuarant on the Saturday night reservation for 9pm, at 10 pm we were still waiting to order, simply not enough staff. Staff are polite, but when the salad arrived with greenfly still attached, the restaurant should have reoved the item from the bill, they didn't and hardly an apology was muttered. Being British we didn't complain, in honesty it wouldn'tt have made much difference and the staff are rushed off their feet.
Ordered the steak tartare which was seriously dissapointing followed by the roast cod which was a little bland.
Wine list is overpriced and the house chardonnay is very poor. Order a 2nd bootler of white burgundy at £39 which in other good restaurants would of been circa £25-£28
The bar has a great atomosphere and the staff take great pride in offerring speciality beers and largers. Little too much dressing and lack of substance but top marks for effort.
Totel charges for parking. The location is fab right next to the quay front and the rooms are good. The hotel itself is a rabbit warren of rooms and corridors. Would I go back...................... probably not, sorry.
