Excellent service, delicious food and very comfortable room. We would definitely stay again. The location of this hotel is perfect, no need for a car. You do have to pay for parking though which is £10.00 per night

Ideally located a leisurely few minutes’ walk from the quayside (boat tours aplenty when you get there) and the beginning of the High Street with its long corridor of shops, cafes, English pubs, and restaurants, the hotel du vin provided us with a welcoming, pleasant stay. Our room, Saintsbury (each room is named after a wine or champagne) was comfortable, clean, and compact without feeling cramped. Fundamentally, this is a perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of the UK (Lulworth cove just a few miles West on the breath-taking Jurassic coast is a must for sightseers and nature lovers) rather than a luxury boudoir for spending days getting pampered in your room. If we did have an issue it was the noise of the air conditioning/plumbing at night, though it was not enough for us to complain about. However if we stayed again we would probably ask for a different room in the main building of the hotel as it appears to be made up of different buildings or extensions though every area is interconnected.
The restaurant with its adjoining bar was one of the star attractions of the hotel. In fact it was so good we dined there twice even though the surrounding area is home to several nice restaurants. French onion soup and lobster thermidor (not too heavy on the gruyère), mouth-watering!
On the experience of this visit we can thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel if you visit Poole.

Room Tip: Request a room in the main hotel building

My wife booked this as a birthday treat for me and a lovely surprise it was too! We were upgraded to a fabulous room with a roll top bath in the room and two huge TV's. We had a romantic supper in the bistro and although we were seated a little too close to the other guests it was quite enjoyable. We were very impressed by the extensive wine list but most of it is very expensive. Good for a special treat.

This was our third time at this hotel. Previously we had stayed in the room called 'Grange' but fancied trying out a different room. We were given a room on the ground floor facing the street (can't remember the name unfortunately). At first I was reticent about it, normally preferring a higher floor, however my initial reluctance was unfounded. The room was spacious, clean and very quiet (hotel is on a very quiet street). Breakfast was fresh, hot and real (no concentrates or short cuts on food quality).
Poole is lovely place to spend a weekend, so much so, we're coming back again in August!

Visted here for Afternoon tea one Saturday and treated my friend for her Birthday. Sandwiches we're pretty average and i'd have expected more traditional fillings, the selection of cakes were poor and there was nothing classy about them which you would expect from an afternoon tea. The scones were delicioius but sadly the whole thing was poorly presented, Service was slow and i'm convinced we had been forgotten about. The nicest touch was a complimentary glass of prosecco as it was a birthday celebration, shame the room you take afternoon tea in has no windows in and we could hardly see the afternoon tea infront of us. Very Very dark with low lighting not where you expect to take afternoon tea in June!! The staff took a along time to also acknowledge us even though we had booked. Overall a very average experience in what is not a very average establishment. Definitely expected more......
