“POPTASTIC - FORTIES MADE FUN”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2012

What an unlikely delight. Directed by slightly eccentric (in a good way) proprietors we, two 50+ adults, did have some trouble finding the secret door to the start of the trail, holding up some eager kids behind us. Fortunately we regained some cred' by managing to quickly identify the thief.

We spent ages in the forties room, bashing away on a typewriter, reminiscing over 'Janet and John' books, wind up trains and all manner of things.

Finally we came away with an adventurous four book and various 19th century inspired stuff to remind us of this great place, soon to close.

Two hours well spent.

Shop owner promised we could play with all toys where we were told not to in shop. This was not the case .All the good toys were only shown by owner and under lock and key. Was watch most of the time even though there were cameras everywhere . Film room was not going .Did not try to get it going not even a sorry . Famous Five themed treasure trail was good but 16 pound for the family was a bit steep. Said they were closing very soon not shocked .But have a shop in Post Office Corfe .Beware rip off.

“What a lovely surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2012

We came across this quite be accident but spent quite some time here and wished we had the granchildren with us. It was well set out for the older children to explore at their own pace but would be equally good for smaller children under closer adult supervision. For ourselves it brought back memories of our youth and we were able to be hands on again with toys of yesteryear. The shop provided us with a wealth of ideas for christmas presents for 'children' of all ages.

“Interesting hour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2012 via mobile

Spent a nice hour here with my two girls aged 8 and 11 as it was pouring with rain. Being an enid blyton fan, found it very interesting and the girls enjoyed the mystery solving. Some lovely things in the shop that tool me back to my childhood.

“Ok for older children”

We visited based on the trip advisor reviews. The website doesn't detail much so we were not sure what to expect. It is basically a shop with a couple of back rooms. The first part is to find the hidden door into the dark passage. In the passage you have clues to find the final criminal. Our 3 year old was a bit scared in the passage as it was dark but my husband loved it! For children 6 and over, I can imagine it is great fun. After the mirror maze, there are lots of vintage toys to play with, which my daughter enjoyed. For 4 and under, I wouldn't recommend. We spent about 1 hour there.
