The park is so peaceful and is very clean and well kept. There is plenty of grass for children to play on and it offers a lovely view across the water over to Brownsea Island and is ideal for people watching, watching the passing boats or just peacefully watching the world go by.

Had a lovely walk through the woods with our dog and the foster dog we are currently looking after. There were quite a few families having fun but it was certainly not over crowded, plenty of space for all and quite shady in the woods for those like us who don't want to expose their dogs to the lovely but harsh sun.

We had a coffee and cake at the Kiosk in the main house, unfortunately our cake was mouldy so we returned it. The lady in the kiosk was very un co-operative but fortunately the Italian chap there was instantly horrified and happily exchanged the cakes for something else.

The kiosk is manned by volunteers and as we sat on the benches under a tree, happily watching a young family play with a Frisbee while we had our coffee we were astonished to see the same woman from the kiosk walk across the grass to tell the family they were not allowed to play in that area. The family were quiet, not disturbing anyone, not near enough to the house or kiosk to do any harm and very much enjoying themselves.

having been told they had to move they duly did so. We looked for any evidence of signs / notices to indicate that playing was not allowed in that area and could not find any.

For a place that is ideal for young families this "one person" seems to be ill placed and should perhaps consider devoting their volunteering to another cause, being clearly un suited to this particular location.

Will we go again? Yes for sure, its lovely and one example of bad staff does not mean the attraction is bad. Well done to Poole Council for continuing to improve the access and facilities here by recently opening up previously fenced off areas and clearing some of the undergrowth to make a brilliant leisure area.

Whats not to like? Upton country park is great for all ages, loads of open spaces where kids can run around, play football, or cricket throw a frisby or fly a kite, mums and dads can sit back and relax.

Lovely walks taking in views of Poole Harbour with adventure trails for children, climbing frames and swings etc made from wood.

Hides for twitchers to spot birds and wildlife.

Walled Garden with a recently installed water feature so kids can get wet and cool off on sunny days.

Tea rooms, garden shop and a kiosk where you can buy ice creams and hot drinks etc

And.......its free ! How anyone can fault this place amazes me! This lovely house and grounds was donated to the people of poole and rub largely by volunteers.

Nothing out of the ordinary here but still worth going to. Lots of space for the children, nice clean cafe which wasn't overpriced. The thing I liked about the park was that it wasn't commercialised. You need to visit here on a sunny day I think

we cycled here from haven holiday park and was not far away and was very park with nice gardens on on a slightly damp morning in may. the cafe was nice and staff quite friendly. we did not see much that much wild life about park from the odd squirrel. i guess it was quiet as we went mid week but its a handy stop for cyclist as you can cycle from the park right into centre of Poole keeping off the roads.
