“An amazing day out for wild life lovers”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

We took a train from London to Poole and had a lovely walk through to old town to the harbour to catch the boat to Brownsea Island. We were delighted to see a number of red squirrels and Oyster Catchers up close. The views were stunning and we found the history of the islands very interesting (The National Trust have put up some information boards at the sites of interest). Despite the fact that it was school holidays and there were a lot of people on the island (including a scout camp) we easily found quiet spots to do some wild life spotting. Get away from the crowds find a nice spot to sit still and you will be rewarded. There are also many great picnic spots with benches sited at locations with lovely views.

“Well worth the time and Visit”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

It was nice to get a dry day on our holiday and make the trip to Brownsea Island yet again. Its always worth a visit. Its so peaceful walking across the Island. Being a Scout Leader it means something to me, but there is so much to see and enjoy and to take it in.

“Brownsea Island visit”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Absolutely stunning. The nature trails are easy to follow and really well thought of. There
really is something for everyone, the views over Poole Harbour are amazing and when you
get hungry or are in need of a drink the tearoom has alot of choice from hot meals to
cream teas, alot of which is home made. Definitely worth a visit.

“Lovely but expensive - take a picnic”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Add the cost of the ferry from sandbanks to the National Trust entrance fee and it's hardly a cheap day out but it is worth it. A picnic means at least not spending another small fortune in the cafe. Lovely for the birds and squirrels and the excellent volunteers from the Dorset Wildlife Trust.

“Stunning National Trust attraction...!”
Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

Brownsea island is a stunning national trust attraction with views over Poole harbour. Easily accessible by boat which runs every half an hour. It's great for children with great walks, woodland ( red squirrel spotting) and rustic areas of beach! There is a great cafe serving a selection of hot & cold food, ice creams and drinks. Again fantastic views!!
