I have been to this Hotel/Restaurant several times just for a casue drink with my Husband and friends and you always feel welcome (even on a rainy day) the setting os to die for and you fee so relaxed, the food is really food, hot and plentiful. I live locally so will have many more trips there. Keep up the good work.

We came to eat in the bistro but the only option we were given was to eat in the bar. It was late afternoon and it was still quite busy and there was a wedding on. We ordered at the bar and paid at the bar and had to help ourselves to cutlery and condiments. My husband's cod with chorizo was nice, but my seafood tagliatelli was not very nice. It was just some boiled pasta with rubbery bits of squid, half a dozen mussels, some tinned salmon a squirt of lemon and some oil. The puddings were very nice however. The sticky toffee pudding was huge and surrounded by toffee sauce with ice cream. My husband's chocolate brownie was also very nice and he enjoyed that.

We caught them at a really busy time and they coped admirably and cheerfully with the deluge of people wanting to eat inside because of the rain. The menu was interesting and the food tasted really good, catering for all preferences. It would be even better on a sunny day because of its lovely location. We were in a rather unexciting side room because of pressure on the tables with the views but it didn't stop us from having a thoroughly nice time.

A hotel bistro on the marina compound. We were visitors of the marina and this restaurant was just nearby. A good location for big parties, as we found ourselves in the middle of a wedding party. The chap that had to clear the tables should be given a medal for his maneuvering skills. The food was above average with some fusion cooking ideas. Although in 'posh' surroundings we thought it good value for money.

After failing to find anywhere to park in Sandbanks we ended up in the Salterns Hotel and Marina complex and decided to stop here for lunch.

We took an outside table close to the Marina waterfront, with views of the boats in the Marina, the bay and Sandbanks in the distance, and with an umbrella for shade.

Next to where we parked was a notice informing the car park was for hotel guests and customers only and 80 pound fees could be imposed so as a precaution I recorded the car registration in a log at reception.

Food and drinks need to be ordered at the bar, and you need to take your own cutlery and condiments to your table. Drinks were obtained directly at the bar and carried out to the table. The terrace was pretty busy but our food only took about 20 minutes to arrive. Mrs FB2000 ordered the Cheese Burger ( 9.50 GBP ) which was standard pub fare but with a large serving of chips and onion rings. I ordered the Lasagne with Garlic Bread and a small salad ( 9 GBP ) which again wouldn’t win any prizes but was filling and ideal for lunch.

A Cappuccino and Café Latte were pretty good value for 2.50 GBP each as we relaxed in the sunshine watching the world go by

With the scorching weather, this was a pleasant place to spend an afternoon.
