Went in one Saturday night around 10pm with a friend. Never again.
Dining room resembled a pig sty and no effort had been made to clear empty tables. Seemingly they thought this was OK for customers because it was a Saturday night - as though that makes low standards of service and hygiene acceptable.
The table next to us was an absolute bombsite, including food and cutlery all over the floor and tablecloth, glasses lying everywhere on their sides etc. You honestly couldn’t write it, it was like the PG Tips Chimps had visited on an away-day. When we initially mentioned it, the waiter just made a joke of it and didn’t take the hint to clear it up – in retrospect, we should have been more forceful, but obviously expected them to resolve this obviously diabolical mess
There were only two or three tables of diners whilst we were in this establishment so its not like they were too busy – I suspect their priority may have been to close up and get home.
After some delay we were served a fridge-cold bottle of full-bodied red wine. We politely asked for a different one at a more acceptable (room) temperature, and one was brought for us.
When our meal arrived, 40 minutes after we arrived, the “bombsite” table next to us had unbelievably still not been cleaned. When we saw that the lentils had a thick skin, like a tin of long-neglected gloss paint, then it was the final straw – we didn’t trust the food and didn’t want to eat a mouthful in these surroundings.
We told the manager we wanted to leave and were not prepared to pay given the awful attitude towards customer service and cleanliness, coupled with the appearance of the food. The manager quickly became volatile, verging on hysterical, but eventually let us leave.
My strong advice = Stay away.
