“great racing but boring intervals”
Review of Poole Speedway

Whilst the racing is happeing you just can't beat it for excitement. The only problem is the delays in between racing when you can't hear the P.A system and the only thing happening is a tractor driving round.
There are average catering facilities and at least there clean toilets.
It is a friendly environment but it is not a cheap nights entertainment if a few of you go.

3 of us visited from the north for Gary Havelocks benefit meeting. I've been to a few speedway stadiums in the country and have always found the locals friendly, where everyone mingles and shares their stories, not at Poole! Wherever we sat it was like "you can't sit there" despite the seats being empty and us fully explaining that should the season ticket holder of that seat come then obviously we would respectfully move. It felt like a lot of the regulars didn't want us there despite speedway being a 'friendly family sport'.
I would'nt go again for a meeting.....a long way to travel for rudeness!

Visited Poole Speedway to attend the Farewell meeting for speedway legend Gary Havelock. The stadium is well sign posted from within the town itself.

The stadium has the usual food you'd expect with a bar as well if you fancy a beer whilst watching the action.

The home straight is a covered stand and the back straight is a glass fronted building letting you see the action without the need to venture outside. Bends 1 and 2 are uncovered and not sure if there are any facilities there, bends 3 and 4 are again uncovered with food kiosk and merchandise hut.

Nice stadium which dished up a good meeting even if the weather tried to spoil it
