Owner description: Naturally beautiful, with its golden sand, Sandbanks Beach has been designated by the European Commission as one of the few areas in the United Kingdom which has achieved the highest standard of cleanliness. Sandbanks has held the highly coveted international Blue Flag for the past 24 years and offers a designed area for barbeques and swimmers. New slacklining posts have been installed. Equipment is available to hire from the beach office. Activities at Sandbanks include crazy golf, a children's play area and the Sandbanks Beach Cafe. The number 50 Wilts and Dorset bus from Bournemouth Station to Swanage stops near to the beach (generally every half hour in the summer). There is a car park next to the beach that holds 550 cars, 5 for disabled use.

Golden Sands, safe beaches with Lifeguards. Not full of amusements, only a brilliant Cafe/ Restaurant and a place selling spades and buckets etc.... You will not find a nicer sandy beach.

“Great all year round”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2014

Sandbanks is well worth visiting at any time of the year to walk a long, spend a day, or have an evening BBQ. If you visit the area it is well worth visiting and seeing the views across to old harry rocks.

“Posh Sand”

Amazing beach location - feel like you are abroad. Limited selection of food available at a kiosk - not too pricey considering where you are. Car parking was right near the beach but, expensive. Walked up to the chain ferry. Not a lot else to do but, go to the beach.

“Sandbanks, Poole, Dorset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2014

Sandbanks Beaches are lovely. There are plenty of facilities and there is a beach warden as well, The only criticism I have is the cost of parking. The parking charges are atrocious all along the coast in the Poole/Bournemouth area. The tourists spend enough as it is in the local cafes, bars ,shops etc so the least the local council could do is give them a break as far as the car parking is concerned and stop ripping people off
