Think we got the smallest room they offered, as you opened the door you had to push it past the bed, it actually hit the bed. However it was clean, comfortable came with plenty of teas for the morning & biscuits.
All we really needed for an overnight stay. I'd use them again.

Booking for one night" .
The first impressions of the room were pleasant , good quality quilt and feather pillows, but there were signs of wrest and tear on the bedside cabinets which let the room down. A d the fact that the loo appeared not to work, the fact was it filled slow that my bladder filled quicker than the cistern"!!
The overall manager was delightful and very helpful , but it wasn't great all in all.
I had food downstairs in there very nicely fitted out restaurant. Firstly I orderd a Peroni beer , they had ran out on draft , only to be offered two Luke warm bottles. So I ordered some food . One Crayfish and mango cocktail , the crayfish had obviously been defrosted , they were tasteless and rubbery" the salad was do finely diced it was difficult to identify what was what. Bread was delivered with no butter even though I had asked twice. (Disappointing )
I then ordered there Sirloin steak with chips pepper sauce and a green salad of water cress .! The steak was ordered Med rare, came medium"! More fat than steak , the pepper sauce was so bad it certainly was not what I would have called it, tasted musty and no pepper flavour what so ever,
In fairness to the manager she did not charge for this. And it was struck from the account"
The next morning , breakfast toll a age to come some 40 min, very poor, black puffing was cremated , beans cold , eggs underdone , poor quality tea, and service. Was there any plus points to this hotel ?? Only one the bed was comfy"! Shame really it held much potential . They really need to sharpen up there act it could have been really great and a place to revisit, would I go again ? Probably not .

The location of this hotel is convenient for those using the Channel ferries. Very popular with diners which is not surprising as the food is excellent. Our room was number 8, on the top floor over looking the car park. It is a spacious room and nicely decorated with a light and airy feel. The bed was very comfortable. There was a good selection of teas in the room to choose from. The noise from the corridor below our room where toilets are located was a little intrusive, (doors banging and noise from hand driers) but this stopped once the restaurant was closed.

Room Tip: Room 8 is a lovely room, but the noise from below may annoy you.

They forgot to put towels in my room which was a bit frustrating as there is no internal phone system

The bedrooms are a bit small but ok as we were only staying for 2 nights. The restaurant downstairs noise does filter up. It is a very busy restaurant and popular for seafood. Having said that, I'd go if I was nearby just for breakfast. This isn't somewhere that you buffet yourself to a greasy pile up so expect to wait for your choice to be prepared for you. The seafood theme runs throughout. I chose smoked salmon with poached eggs in hollondaise sauce on a bagel. It was perfect, I asked for my eggs to be done well and that is exactly what I got. Oh and I rate a place on their coffee - and this was excellent. Unfortunately we had an early ferry on the second day and I missed the breakfast, but I would call in just to use the restaurant for breakfast. By the way, this hotel would not suit a wheelchair user.

Room Tip: One room is bigger than all the others. It's on the third floor - ask for this.

Arrived late evening and didn't realise hotel entrance is shared with restaurant- staff came out and asked if we were OK and checked us in & found us a table in the restaurant.

Rooms aren't large but adequate with enough space to walk round the bed, use the OK shower room etc. Good selection of teas and coffees although a bit of a faff to find somewhere safe to plug the kettle in.

Beakfast was excellent, all freshly cooked and delicious. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

If you're looking for a room to lounge around in then this isn't for you but if its simply somewhere comfortable and welcoming to lay your head then this is fine (especially at the off season reduced rate which included breakfast).

Room Tip: the further down the corrider the better away from the loos also on the same floor.

Nothing to add to the current reviews. The food is excellent and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast menu is delightful and the food is freshly prepared. We also had lunch with family and it was a delight - quite expensive but value for for money.

Room Tip: Book a room at the back - the main road can be quite noisy.
